Used for a 4/4 cello this rock stop is perfect for holding the instrument where you need it. It is thick, and has a textured base to stop from sliding around and the brass type accent cup is a nice touch to compliment the color of the cello we're using which has lighter blonde tones to it. Stays in place under instrument load and keeps the endpin from sliding out from under you while changing music or setting the instrument down for breaks.

I bought this to replace one that I had had for about 30 years. They looked identical. The main differences that this one does not stick to smooth floors, leaving me to grab the mat from the back of my car to put under my chair and my end pin at the last second. Not worth the stress

Grips to the floor decently well, when it’s first out of the packaging it feels a bit plastic-like but that’s mostly because it’s hard rubber and with a bit of use and breaking in it felt better. Fairly standard rock stop and is comparable to any you’d get from music stores.The brass endpin holder is solid and while it can be scratched if your endpin doesn’t have any rubber on it, it only lightly marks it and doesn’t dent easily or gouge into it like other rock stops.

It is a good quality product but the opening is too big, my cello teacher said, it is for string bass, not a cello.
