Foam insert is (closed cell) military grade polyethylene which can be wiped clean. Max length of pistols is 8 5/8". Compact design leaves no wasted space. Manufactured in America by Case Club. This ammo can insert includes 3 pieces. Soft lid foam, denser base foam with cutouts, dense flatpad for the bottom. Gun cutout foam is included which allows you to customize the depth the gun sits (using a razor blade or knife). This provides you the flexibility of fitting anything from a compact to a full size 1911. Customer is responsible for gluing the lid foam into the lid of their ammo box if desired. (Standard hot glue will work.) Ammo can, pistol & magazines depicted are not included.

This Was perfect! The foam arrived as a full block of foam. The cuts for the cutouts were perfect and the foam in the different compartments can be cut so you pistol and mags can be customized as to how far they sit down in. The foam is high quality and stiff enough to maintain it's shape.

I don't normally leave reviews but I seen quite a few negative reviews on this box when I bought it so I was a bit hesitant. Long story short I am very happy I decide to give it a chance! I purchased the .50 Cal version. Interior dimensions 5-5/8" wide x 11" long x 7" deep, exterior dimensions about 1/4" larger. The exterior paint job looks great while the interior has a few runs on the bottom surface but is fully coated all around. As for the sticker being hard to remove, I did not experience near the troubles it sounds like others have. The first sticker I pulled off in three pieces and the second I heated slightly with a hair dryer maybe to 100 F and it peeled off no problems at all. Whether peeling it cold or warmed up the trick is to pull it evenly nice and slow. The seal seems to work good although I would have liked to see it a little wider since the two long sides of the box are right on the edge of the seal. The short sides of the box hit nice and centered creating an excellent seal. Anyways hopes this helps anybody else who is on the fence about this box.

So far I love it. It does everything I need it to. Holds plenty of rounds (Up to 7or 8 boxes with the way I have it set up now) spare mags, and even my 33 rounder mags to. The only issue that I have is when I try to place my glock 17 down in like shown in the pics, it doesn't quite fit. But it's due to the little extra length of my threaded barrel. Put it in flush and it's good to go.

This is an excellent idea for storage and or transportation of a single firearm. The ammo cans, (in good shape) are water tight, and with a simple mod, also available from this company, can be locked securely. No little fingers in this box. I personally use this foam liner to store and transport my .22 LR target pistol. it is the size of a full size combat pistol like many of todays 9mm hand guns, and the foam allows for a small storage box for extra boxes of ammunition as well as a small cleaning kit and bottle of oil. I would feel completely comfortable even tossing this box a short distance to a hard landing say in the back of a pickup truck for a hunting trip. Or maybe letting bounce around on a UTV while out for a day on the trails. It is simple to modify to fit any pistol you might wish to put in it, just a sharp knife and off you go. This is an excellent product, and for its intended use, priced right.

Long story short, get this. Perfect fit for my XD9 subcompact, but also fit my Glock 17 and 1911, but I specifically built this one for my 9mm and it's capable of holding the gun, 2 mags, and 150 rounds of neatly organized 9mm. I kind of went overboard on the conversion, haha...my apologies! Before and after pictures included. I decided to add a little glue and caulking just for a snugger/secure fit and to ensure the foam would not come out with the gun when attempting a legitimate quick draw.

It does what it's supposed to. Easy to customize due to the way the foam is cut in box sections. For a 3" or less barreled pistol you just leave 1 or 2 of the foam sections in to take up the slack. Same with the slots for the magazines.
