This handy magnifier is just the right size for enlarging type/figures on maps and books. Thin and flexible enough to double as a bookmark. Just perfect!

I started needing reading glasses for labels, etc about 5 years ago.I almost always forget to take a pair of reading glasses with me when I go shopping, to doctor appointments where they want you to fill out all those forms, etc.I put a pair in my car for that reason but still have only remembered to take them into the store one time.I decided to get these, one for my wallet, one I gave to my mother for her purse, as she forgets to take her glasses into stores too.It works great. If there's something I want to see the fine print on I just pull this out of my wallet and can read without having to hold the item far way from my eyes as I can get, which most of the time makes the words so small even though they are in focus now they are too small to read. OR WORSE... having to ask someone that works there or a younger person: "What does this say?" ..so embarrassing.. I think anyway. On the really fine print the 6x "spot lens" on this works fantastic.

IT TURNS OUT:that these things are directional - there is a front and a back. Who knew? (They didn't tell me, and I didn't see it in reviews.) So - the defective focus that I found on first use making it WORSE than no magnification, almost disappears if you turn it around. The prismatic part should face you.Other than the easy-to-scratch surface, I can now recommend it and added two stars. It's very convenient to one-hand use and store, and it covers a large area for reading. I would estimate it only loses 15% sharpness over the best headset magnifiers, of which I also recommend the Carson model as the lenses are extra wide for extra-wide coverage, at only about a 1/3 premium.Link: Amazon.com: MagniVisor Deluxe Head Visor/Magnifier : Carsonhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007CDJKM2/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A3IKLWVVZGBDZ2&psc=1ORIGINALUnfortunately that thick plastic makes seeing anything through it next to impossible. Standard text that I can read fine, when viewed through this, becomes unreadable. I don't see the point. It also either came scratched or got scratched merely handling it to get it out of the package. It may have brushed against the round plastic shift lever in my 2005 Explorer.I'd say stick to one of the better head set units for computer and other use - my conclusion and I'm pretty good at this. And make sure the lenses extend to cover your whole eye so you can see the whole device screen at once. I'm going to try these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007CDJKM2/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_5?smid=A3IKLWVVZGBDZ2&psc=1

This is a very well made product and reputable company. This is so practical I keep it in my purse so when I go grocery shopping and try to read the stickers on the produce I actually can with this magnifier. The size is that of a credit card. It is made of hard rather than flexible plastic and I see how this could possibly crack if not handled properly. But this material is a pro not a con since it provides better clarity. Great product. I would highly recommend it!

I try not to be harsh but this one is going to get slammed as simply pure junk. It did not last even 24 hours before splitting in half. It no doubt is simply a piece of cheap plastic. True polycarbonate of a quality nature would withstand a little pressure from being in a wallet but this one withstands nothing. It's plastic, plain and simple--thin. So if you think for one moment this will survive in a wallet you are going to waste your time like I did. Back it went to Amazon, who should not be selling items of this quality as I am far from the only one who wrote negative reviews. Maybe it is ok for a ladies purse (or man's) but certainly not suitable for a wallet that is going to be subjected to any kind of pressure when sitting down, which all mens wallets will receive. The idea is great, as we get older and need help reading small print, but this is not the answer folks.

This is a Good Product, I like the fact that it is made of RIGID Plastic.(Its firm and Does Not bend)I bought this For my MOM along with "Carson Optical Lighted Magnifold Magnifier" Since her eyesight was poor after cataract Surgery.I was However Very Disappointed that this Came with a 3 inch Crack in the Centre (even though the Package says Shatter Proof)...........Believe me .......it CAN CRACK...!!!The reason for this is that Amazon Shipped this Together with a Batter Charger and a Carson Optical Lighted Magnifold Magnifier in the same Oversize Box, with only one Small (insufficient) Plastic Bubble bag (on one side of the box), which left the Battery Charger bouncing around in the Box, hence this may have been the Cause of the Cracked Carson Optical Page Magnifier Fresnel Lens.I thought about shipping the Item Back, but when I checked the Postal rate (From my Country) it was about US $20, (several times more than I paid for it). SO It was not worth it.This is NOT the First time Amazon has Shipped a Package with Poor or Little padding inside the Box. My First Package I ever ordered was a Hardrive (there was only one Plastic Bracket at One end of the Hard drive (They did not put another One at the End to Secure it) Hence that one came Bouncing around in the Box also.)Seems like they Limit the Amount of inside Box Padding for many Items. I wish they would Properly Pad Boxes with Fragile items generously in future. At the End of the Day I live with the Crack on this Fresnel Page magnifier, I Use it Sometime for reading Classified adds in the Newspapers, Works fine (Once I dont position or look at the Crack in the Centre of the lens) when viewing fine newspaper Print.
