Sensor was used to replace an "old" sensor at the same time that the entire heat exchanger was replaced on my Bryant furnace. Not sure if the old sensor had any problems (it was 17 years old), but the new sensor was so inexpensive that it seemed like a good time to replace it.

Exact same part to replace the limit switch in a ~2011 Bryant Plus 95s Evolution furnace model 355CAV. "System malfunction" would pop up on the thermostat and furnace wouldn't fire. Turned off power to the furnace, manually pushed the reset button on the limit switch (see the photo...push in the pink/magenta "switch" which should make a little click sound when you push it). Sometimes the furnace would run fine for a while but the same system malfunction warning would pop up a few hours later and the same error codes would flash. Time to replace the part. This was an identical part. Very easy to replace (although it's a tight space if you don't have the right tool to remove the screws at a side angle). Just pry off the wires (might need a flat screwdriver to nudge them off). Use a black marker to put a little mark on one of the leads and also on or near the tab on which it's attached. This will help you install the new part right side up and connect the leads correctly. (I don't know if that actually matters but I didn't want to find out). Furnace works perfectly now.*Update: This was the right part and does the job it's supposed to do but unfortunately it can't compensate for a failed secondary heat exchanger which was the reason the switch was tripping in the first place. This is a common issue with these Bryant units after about 10 years of use and even though there's an "enhanced warranty" that covers the cost of a replacement heat exchanger, the installer's labor cost (in my case ~$850) is not covered. The alternative is to accept $525 from Bryant toward the cost of a completely new Bryant furnace.

I am by no means a professional HVAC tech. I had a problem with a unit that would not remain heating. It would work for about 2 minutes then go into a safety mode giving me some error code. 13 or 31 think. I troubleshoot the symptoms and had two last options either this sensor is bad or have to get completely new blower motor. I went with the sensor first to see it would work and if it didn't I would then get a blower motor. Happily the sensor change was the fix only. Only problem I ran into was has to trim the terminals with some tin snips to connect the wires. Other than that it worked great.

Connects are standard size and my unit has small connectors. Trimming them to size was a challenge. Not sure if it worked, the fix was actually to replace a fuse in the motherboard.

As it turns into the rollout wasn't the part I needed to fix my unit however, I now am comfortable knowing the I have a new rollout switch.
