This didn’t quite work for me. I was hoping for something that could quickly collect pet fur before vacuuming to prevent clogs in my vacuum hose. My rugs are all very low pile, and neither side of the main broom seems particularly effective. The comb side appears designed for plush or shag carpets, but on mine, it just scrapes the surface and scatters debris. The flat side isn’t much better—it drags across the surface without actually gathering fur. Honestly, I think I’d be better off using a regular broom. While some of the accessories have limited usefulness, it would make more sense to purchase them separately rather than as part of this bundle.

With three cats (two long-haired) and a dog I constantly battle fur in the carpet. Vacuuming never gets it all up, despite having a very nice pet-specific vacuum. That makes the carpet shampooer get clogged up with hair even after two or three sessions of vacuuming. I first tried the wide comb side of the carpet to and didn't have much result. It didn't pick up hardly any hair. This may be due to the type of carpet I have more than a deficiency in the tool. It's very short-napped and kind of worn after years of kids and pets. The other side with the very fine-toothed comb worked a great! Even after vacuuming twice I got up a TON more hair without *too* much effort. I did one more vacuum before shampooing and had much less problems with clogging the machine. Plus it really plumped up the nap of the carpet, so it looks better than ever.

This pet hair rake is not what I expected at all. I thought I was receiving a silicone squeegee type of design, but this is a metal bar with a twisted end. It doesn’t pick up anything except some pieces of hair in some places. And then you have to pull it out. The smaller handheld brush works much better with the gray side, but it’s obviously too small to be useful on the carpet. I have two dogs with long hair, so expected to pick up more. I tried both tools on both short and long pile carpets and got the same result either way. I’m not happy with it and will continue to look for a squeegee brush for my needs.

There are multiple parts to this kit. I will review and rate each one individually.Carpet rake with comb - 0 stars. I am not sure who had the idea to attach an enormous comb to the end of a pole with a carpet rake on the other side. The comb is removable. When I say removable, I mean the comb slides in and does not attach to anything so it immediately slides out. It is essentially a gigantic metal comb that is constantly falling on the floor. Also, I tried using the comb (not on the pole because it would not stay put) on normal length carpet and I was too afraid it was going to pull up the carpet loops so I stopped. Who is combing their carpet? The carpet rake that is attached and screws into the pole, snagged on the carpet. I tried a flat rug, fluffy looped carpet, regular normal carpet and even a commercial rug - it snagged everything.Slicker brush - 1 star. I brush both our aussies and my Mom's yellow lab daily. They understand brushing. I use a slicker brush, a comb and an undercoat rake. None of the dogs would let me go near them with this brush. One of our aussies enjoys brushing so much he begs to be brushed and will fall asleep while being brushed. When I started brushing him with this slicker brush he actually jumped and looked back and me and slowly got up and walked away. Now, I am giving this brush one star because it is a brush and it does work, the hair removal button does also work, so if you have a cat or small dog, this brush might work for you. Your mileage just may vary.Silicone handheld fur remover - 5 stars. This little tool redeemed this entire set. Unfortunately I would not pay $24.99 for this tool so I still had to give the whole set 3 stars total. This little tool was super useful. It removed hair off of everything I wanted the larger rake to work on, plus lots of other surfaces. I used it on our wood stairs that have carpet runners, it worked on outdoor rugs, fuzzy dog beds, office chairs, living room chairs, car floor mats and really anything else I walked by for a full 8 hours. This is a great little tool. We have a lot of items in our house that our dogs walk next to or on top of that cannot be washed and this tool eliminated all the dog hair in seconds.

I was pleasantly surprised with the quality construction of this rake. If you have a low pile, dark color rug, this what you need to remove those hairs that have gotten trapped into the fibers. The hand tools make upholstery cleaning easier, too. In all, I'd recommend this kit for those frustrate trying to get pet hair up with the vacuum cleaner. Thanks.
