So I got these for a great deal. Reviews seemed good. But these are SUPER hard to get onto the containers. I wanted to love these, and I'll continue to use them until I can find something better. But wayyyyyyy too snug of a fit.

Pick a dark blue lid, any size - They ALL have the same problem. The older lighter blue lids would seal well and stood up to any kitchen or catering operation. The dark blue lids will seal until you bring it out of refrigeration. They warp and are unusable until they reach normal room temperatures. Remember, these are for storing everything including condiments which are pulled in and out of refrigeration all day long. You must use a fresh room temperature lid to reseal the pans.

Apparently these come in different colors but I couldn't care less. It is a lid! It does exactly what it's supposed to do for the intended product. BEWARE this may not fit other manufacturers' "standardized" third size (1/3) pan – it is specific billed for Carlisle items. Other plastic third pans may look very close/similar but may not have the exact dimensions which make this such a tightly fitting lid. That said, it is only for plastic pans not for metal pans, Carlisle or not. As for its fit to the appropriate container, it is perfect – providing a tight seal, preventing airflow and spillage (not entirely leakproof) for any depth 1/3 pan – while making them stackable also. It is a low-density (softer) plastic so it will not chip or crack easily, and can withstand years of industrial/professional use/abuse. Your mileage may vary, exposure to high temperatures such as those from dishwashers or sanitizing methods may warp the product over time. In my experience, even warped products still serve their function well, even without the aesthetics of a "new" item. This item is meant for cool to room temperature environments, exposure to excess heat will damage the product up to a point of making it unusable under the right circumstances. Otherwise, it's a lid, what else could you ask for!
