Daily Use and Warm tips:

  • The first few times you start using the wok, please wash and keep it dry after you finish cooking, then apply a layer of vegetable oil to the surface of the wok to form a film of oil to give the wok the ultimate non-stick effect.
  • Do not store corrosive substances such as food soup, soy sauce, vinegar, salt, and other corrosive substances in the wok for a long time.

Very nice. 13" is pretty big, I could've gone smaller I guess. But it's easy to use, works just like we hoped it would and clean up is a breeze. There is a bit of maintenance but it's easy and fast. The tools that came with it are terrific. A good value and a strong, durable wok that should last a lifetime.

Wok worked fine in a couple uses, non-stick performed better than my Teflon coated fry pan. But the lid quality was not so satisfied as a rust spot created by missed coating due to an unproperly cleaned metal bur on lid surface. Will update after a few months to see if the non-stick performance will deteriorate.

The description is a bit deceptive, item is marketed as carbon steel nonstick. When it arrived, it definitely is coated with some type of a nonstick coating. The manufacturer should be forthright and just say that in the description. Some people might be looking for a nonstick coated wok. A waste of time and gas driving to a return location to get a refund. Disappointed.

I wasn't sure I this would be acceptable since my husband is a bit of a snob with his cookware and only buys really expensive pots and pans (he does most of the cooking). However, I usually make stir fry and needed a new wok. I am surprised by the quality. Nice non-stick coating and it is light (not heavy like our other pans). I have even caught my husband using this quite a few times. Have used this quite a bit for a few months with no issues.

The wok is a good weight and heats up quickly. It was easy to clean and the right size for what I made. I look forward to cooking many of my recipes that take up more space than my skillet provides.

So far I have only used it once to make fried rice and it worked well. I was expecting it to have a smooth surface but it is actually has a bit of a rough texture on the cooking side which i believe is from the nitriding technology coating. According to google, "this process infuses nitrogen into the surface of the carbon steel through a heat treatment, creating a hardened layer that significantly improves the pan's resistance to rust and wear, while also enhancing its natural non-stick properties, essentially making it more resistant to sticking without the need for additional chemical coatings." Seems pretty non-stick so far but I would probably prefer to have a smooth, traditional wok.Also, not sure why they included a cheap silicon coated spatula. If the carbon steel is now harder due to the nitriding process they why can't i use steel spoons to stir my food?UPDATE second use after: If you are looking for a non-stick wok that doesn't have a traditional coating containing things like PTFE or other harmful chemicals then this is for you! The nitriding process makes it so non-stick that you can't even coat the pan with oil as you would in a traditional wok. Oil just rolls off to the bottom like a new Teflon pan. This does have a downside as you may have to adjust your cooking style somewhat from a conventional carbon steel wok.

It came with all the things that were advertised and it's brand spanking new. Washed it with dish washing soap and baptized it on a portable butane stove with fried rice and cabbages. With a good amount of oil, it wok'ed it like a champ and food came out nicely :) Hopefully the non stick finish will last for awhile. Will use it more this coming x=mas and new year.

I love this wok, it heats evenly and cleans up effortlessly. It is truly non stick! A good size for a meal, and easy to flip/toss your ingredients because of the bowl shape. A nice, snug fitting lid, and the whole thing is fairly lightweight. I like the feel of the wooden handle too, better than plastic.
