I work at a dealership and I can confidently say this tool is too notch quality. As good as any tool truck equivalent.

The fact that this comes with two different widths makes it very worth it. No more scraping your head with a razer blade and leaving large gouges for gasket to fill. Makes scraping jobs so easy!

The scrapers showed up with burrs on the corners, so that when using them on a flat surface, the burrs would dig into and scratch the surface. I was able to use a carborundum stone to remove the burrs and then the scrapers worked fine.Unless the scrapers were a defective, plan on using a stone to dress them before using.I am guessing that the carbide is not that hard, as it flattened quickly with the stone. The coating looks like paint, but seems to be durable.I've used them to scrape gasket surfaces on one engine so far, and they have held up fine and not damaged the surfaces.

Saw these used on Diesel Creek youtube videos. Used to scrape old gaskets off of sealing surfaces on old engines. Lots better than putty knives.

I bought these for an urgent water pump replacement. I used them and had good luck with them, but quite honestly, the little scrapers at HF are a better option for gaskets. Turn them upside down, have them slide on the tightening nut and they'll line up at the perfect angle for gasket scraping. This scraper seems better for scraping off a clean shaving of metal, down to a new surface versus actually removing gaskets.
