It ukulele arrived and the E and the A string were both damaged. This was supposed to be a brand new ukulele but it appears that it is used. There was dust on the neck as you can see in the picture. The E and the A string had to be replaced but the G and the C string appear to be already well tuned.Anyone who's purchased a brand new ukulele knows that the strings typically need to be adjusted by tuning and retuning several times in the first few days.Once I replace the strings and cleaned up the neck, the sound is very good. It's just that after paying the price one would expect a completely brand new instrument.

I need yet another ukulele like a hole in the head, but this one was reasonably priced, and very inviting. I have had mixed experiences with Amazon ukes, and vowed I wasn’t going to get another one. This Uke has surpassed my expectations. This is not a paid review; I purchased this Uke.It looks like the picture. It’s got gorgeous colors and details. The bridge material matches the dark fretboard material. It has a lovely tone. I play mostly in the bottom frets, so I can’t speak about its intonation on frets closer to the body. The action is excellent. The build quality is excellent; something I’d expect from one of the expensive brands. ThePerhaps Caramel listened to criticism by Baz online, and took his words to heart, because none of his complaints apply to this model.I love the cutaway and the comfort edge. Those features were started by a famous brand, and I’m glad they’ve been adopted by others.I like the depth of the Uke. It’s more comfortable to play than my brand name Uke that cost 4 times as much.I haven’t plugged it in yet, so I can’t review the tone when amp’ed.Overall, so far, I’m pleased.I plan to add a low G string. The existing strings are nice. I dislike the usual “fishing line” even big names use in ukes. These may be fluorocarbons which I like a lot. The sustain is adequate.Pleasantly surprised and happy! Thank you !

Absolutely beautiful! This is one of those rare occasions when the item received looks BETTER in person than in the photos! The tone is wonderful and rich, and well worth the premium over the garden variety tenor ukuleles available - most of which are laminates. They look ok, but sound a little flat and dead. They are good for what they are (I have a few of those as well). This is high quality in looks, finish, and sound. Big plus that the package contains everything for the price - case, onboard tuner/preamp, capo, extra set of strings, strap, even extra batteries!Well done Caramel!

Now, this is the classiest little ukulele I have ever seen. I love the beveling for the armrest and cut away. The shape is very elegant, sleek, inviting and comfortable to use. Caramel, I would love to see this shape done more often on your ukes! Two thumbs up!The finish is gorgeous and easily the most flawless, smooth gloss I've ever seen on a caramel. The instrument feels very sturdy and well made. I love the wood combo. Just gorgeous. And she plays like silk! The strings are just so beautifully balanced and smooth to strum. She has a velvety tone, compared with my other ukes, nice resonance, a bit of a quieter sound, and definitely a pro quality, even sound. I hope I can save up enough to buy the boccotte one from this set, before they start raising the price lol.Accessories are pretty typical for caramel. If you've bought others from them, you've already got more accessories than you need lol. I'm not going to go into those. I like the new gig bag style better though, then the others they've sent. But it does not have a pocket, so keep that in mind.Last thing I wanted to mention is that I live in an exceptionally cold area and had this shipped in the middle of december, during a deep freeze. I was a little concerned about the headstock being damaged if the strings got too tight from the cold. But caramel had slackened the strings plenty, so it arrived safely. I was very please and relieved. In closing, this was a big gold star, caramel! I'd love to see more designs like this one. She is a work of art and my new favorite uke.Previously, I had ordered myself the spalted maple and the koi ebony tenor ukuleles from caramel. I was honestly a little disappointed by the aesthetics of both. This new model more than makes up!

First of all it’s just so beautiful. Really gorgeous. Mine came with a gig bag and lots of accessories. Strap, extra strings, really nice instrument manual, cable, polishing cloth, extra batteries…. What?! No tuner?! You don’t need a tuner! It’s built in. Along with EQ. Batteries pre-installed. Tuner sounds great to my pretty darn good ear. I haven’t plugged it in yet but it sure sounds nice acoustically. I probably should do that before I finish this review. Ok. Yes piezoelectric pickups are good. EQ and volume have a good range. Intonation is spot on. Oh I should mention the cutaway and the armrest. The cutaway works! Even though it isn’t a proper cutaway you can reach the highest notes on the fretboard. The armrest actually feels pretty darn good…. Is it an armrest? It’s more of a snug shape that fits your forearm. I have been wanting a Caramel Ukulele for a while now. Then this one popped up at a great price. My first professional ukulele was a Tiki King… granted it was a koa wood and his crown jewel. Yes I paid $800 and considered it a bargain. But this little gem just might be my new favorite. Thanks Caramel, you did not disappoint! Intonation is spot on! Just a beautifully conceived and made instrument. The shape is gorgeous! Idk what more I could say… if you are even considering it. Yes. It is all that.
