TL;DR: Great product! If you are repairing a crack, look up tutorials on YouTube for better results (Search DIY Windshield crack repair)First off, this is a wonderful product. When I called my insurance company to ask about fixing a windshield crack, they were very quick to tell me that the crack had to be smaller than a dollar bill- otherwise, I needed to pay $500 to replace the windshield. Thanks once again, insurance companies, for making me sad.But then, I find out that for $10, I could do it myself! Sure, it's not perfect, but it's much better than before! Following the instructions for a crack that was included in the product, I cleaned the crack, let it dry out, and poured the resin directly and slowly along the crack. I then cut the provided plastic strips into thirds so that I would have enough to go the length of the crack (it was a long one!). After about an hour, I came back out, removed the plastic, and scraped off all of the resin.About 70% of the crack was practically invisible in the sunlight! The product worked as advertised for this section. However, the top of the crack still showed strong. I don't think that the resin made it into the crack deeply enough, or it might have somehow been pulled out whenever I scratched off the remaining resin with the provided razor blade. Anyways, this part of the crack is still visible, though it did stop it from spreading any further so far (as of 2 weeks).Recently, I saw some videos online of people using the included plunger (plastic thing with suction cups) along cracks by greasing up either side of the crack and sliding the plunger along. This seems to be a much more thorough solution, and probably would have gotten it all. If this could be included in the instructions, that would be great, although it is admittedly more complicated.I'm still giving 5 stars, because at the end of the day I got a usable repair and saved $490. Thanks, YOOHE!

I'll be the first to admit that I was skeptical about this repair kit, but for ~$10, I figured I'd give it a shot. Turns out, I was wrong, it works very well, it's easy to use (READ and FOLLOW the instructions, read them a couple of times so you know the steps needed to make this repair work). I hope the repair holds up over time, but it almost immediately reduced the visibility of the bullseye cracks I had in my windshield, and hopefully will keep them from developing in to cracks.I laid an old towel on the hood of the car so I could have a working surface and lay out all of the pieces of the repair kit without them rolling away. Have at least one or two paper towels handy to wipe up any of the sealant that runs down the glass, but don't worry if that happens, you can easily scrape it off with the included razor blade after it cures. All in all, highly recommend this kit. Do it yourself and save $$$$!!!

I got a bull's eye crack on my windshield the other day while driving on the interstate. I purchased this kit and followed the instructions the best I could since they are written in very poor english. First, I cleaned the surface of the crack with alcohol and let it evaporate before starting the procedure. I then placed the base with suction cups centered on the crack. Next step is to screw in the tube for the resin to flow until the plastic lip was firmly pressed against the windshield to avoid resin leakage. I put 5 drops of resin in the chamber and then push the resin into the crack with the provided screw. I noticed a big air bubble over the crack, so I removed the screw and re-inserted it several times hoping to get rid of the air bubble, but that never happened (see attached pictures). I also could not get the resin to fully flow into the crack - using a heat gun definitely helped (the higher temp. seems to lower the viscosity of the resin facilitating flow under the same pressure). I performed the repair on a cloudy/snowy day in my garage in 40 degree weather. I used UV light to speed up the curing process and then scraped the excess resin with the provided razor blade. The repair looks decent, but I could not get the resin to flow all the way through the crack and hence the 3-star review.

A stone created a star shaped ding or chip the size of a dime on my front windshield. One week later, following the instructions, I succeeded to fill out most of it. Because of the layered windshield, it seemed that the worst ‘spider legs’ were under the surface, so due to limited access, not all of the cracks were fully filled. I will estimate that approx. 85% were filled. Result: It looks much better and I am certain it will pass inspection now. Perhaps if I had applied some more pressure during the fill process I would have gotten a better result. It is hard to judge when to stop especially since the instructions warns against excessive pressure. The razor blade method to remove and flatten the excess worked well around the dent. It seemed to me that the razor blade only provides a ‘scuffed’ surface finish on the actual repair. I would have liked a small polishing pad included, but I did that process on my own after the fact. All in all, a very easy and surprisingly quick process with a very good result. Recommended.
