The latch is cheap. Most of all it does not fit my violin - too small. Have to return it. Bummer.

I was looking for an inexpensive case for a spare violin, and sadly I had to return this one immediately after receiving it. First of all, the case has a balance issue and won't stay firmly planted on the ground/tabletop when the top half is open, even with the violin inside. Also, the metal locking mechanism is quite heavy and tends to dangle awkwardly over the open case. I worry that it can make accidental contact with the violin and potentially damage it - especially if the lid happens to shut accidentally due to the balance issue.It's nice that the case is lightweight, but I'd honestly say that it feels flimsy. I don't think it could survive any serious travel or extensive jostling. Also, the inner lining is quite thin and not cushy at all.Overall, I just don't believe this case was designed with actual string players in mind. I can easily see a young student, or even an adult musician in a hurry, accidentally banging their instrument against the heavy dangling lock. I wouldn't recommend this case to anyone for this reason alone.You'll be much better off going for a more established brand, even if you end up paying slightly more.

This is a nice upgraded case for my full size violin. There’s plenty of room for my shoulder rest, tuner, rosin, cloth, two bows, and a side pocket for music.

As far as cases go for the value of the money, this is a fantastic case! It does the job it looks decent and it keeps my violin safe. The humidity reader does work but accuracy is patchy, but that is usually the case for even $400+ cases. Just add a Bovida 49% humidity pack and your set! Great case money well spent!

Very attractive, sturdy but light and functional rectangular case for my 4/4 violin, 2 bows, cubbies for my Bonmusica shoulder rest, rosin, etc. Will not fit a viola for sure. Lock is functional but nothing special. Not locked on arrival like the other reviewer suffered. Tiny key was attached to a shoulder strap connector stored inside. Instrument should travel easily as I intended with the purchase. Only quibble is the strap holding the top is about 1/8-1/4” too short and without the hardware of the shoulder straps attached, when the case is opened on a flat surface the top will not stay open. Case must be tilted back a bit. A simple manufacturing mod to make the case more customer friendly. Good value.Update: now, my only concern is whether an airline will permit it to be a carry-on to fit in the overhead bin as the case measures 31 1/4 inches in length with delta limit of 22”.My travel pro suitcase is not an issue.
