Purchased on sale. Seems like a solid printer so far. Haven’t used it enough yet to see any issues. Hope for long term success with this printer. Print speed is decent and ink capacity is huge.

This is my 3rd Canon printer over the past 25 years. My old one worked fine until Canon decided not to release Windows 10 drivers for it, so it was time for a replacement. The large and easy to refill ink tanks should save me lots of money. This is also my first network printer and it's great to be able to print from any computer in the house, including from my phone and tablet.

This printer does not scan two sided documents. And if you scan more than one sheet it creates a file for each sheet. Imagine attaching 20 files to an email in order to send a 20 page scanned document? Boo Hiss. I blame Amazon's lame descriptions in part. And the printing is slower than monks transcribing your documents and then hauling them down the mountain. I could live with this if the functionality was better.I really wanted this printer not to suck because I am boycotting HP. My HP printer would not use generic cartridges despite trying every workaround and that is not okay. Canon, could you please steal HP's functions (but not that anti-trust violation ink refill tactics).

Mega-Tank style printers are the only sensible way to go. We've been printing documents, photos & heat transfer images on this printer for over a year with the ink that came with the printer and the red, yellow, and blue tanks are just a hint below half a tank each. The tank of black ink is still over half full. When I order refill ink it will cast me about a third of what our old printer's cartridge refills that would last only a few weeks at best with the amount of printing that we do. Print quality is very satisfactory even when printing photos. The document feeder works well for scanning and copying. A larger touch screen control would be very much appreciated and a front loading paper tray would be a much welcomed addition. The only reason I docked 2 stars for this printer is due to the amount of stress and frustration that is involved almost every time we attempt to print from our cell phones, tablets, and laptops. This printer is very much like the GPS app that is hell bent on routing you onto the interstate even when you want to take the back roads. Instead of letting you send your print job directly to the (wireless) printer it wants to redirect you to the wifi network and then doesn't want to play well with the network that it just forced you use. For crying out loud, we are not off-site printing (unless you call printing from the living room from your smart phone off-site) so give us the option of seeing the print job directly to the printer instead of jumping through hoops and restarting our phones for over 1/2 hour and sometimes even having to give up and email the project to your computer so we can print over cable like cave dwellers.

If you need a high quality printer for a good price....GET THIS ONE!I am so happy with it. Easy to set up and prints great right away. If you play around with the settings your can get even better quality. I would get the G4280 again FOR SURE!!!

I really like this printer, although I haven’t had it long. That said, setup was a bit of a challenge. It didn’t install from plug and play, but I’m running Windows 7 and that could have been a factor. They give you a web address for installation instructions which lists a BUNCH of different equipment and topics. I finally searched on G-4280 setup and that link took care of everything. Adding ink went fine and I think the decision to get away from cartridge printers was a good one. Print quality looks good and so far, I’m very pleased.

Easy setup and easy to connect to WiFi. Touch screen is nice everything is easy to see and understand. Prints well as far as text haven’t printed any photos yet. The app is pretty easy to use to print from phone. It connected to my laptop easily. Hopefully will last as long as my last Canon printer.
