Bought this for my 50mm 1.2L EF lens. Fits perfectly, package looked well done, markings mimic canon branding, no signs of counterfeit. No complaints thus far, and at no point did I feel like I purchased a subpar knock-off.If it is counterfeit, I cannot tell, and I have been a buyer and seller of canon for over 20 years, and this product seems to be 100% authentic.

I greatly prefer the newer Canon Mk 2 Lens caps - the "Pinch" is a substantial upgrade from the older "squeeze" type caps. It is a simple product with an obvious use and it does the job well - protecting your front element. The upgrade is that it is easier to use than its predecessor with the added ability to place and remove the cap with a lens hood in place. I'm now thinking about "losing" my lens caps for my remaining lenses so I can upgrade to these for all of them.

This is a perfectly designed lens cap.I have replaced all of my old Canon lens cap with these new Canon lens caps. The pinch-cap design is a much better design. Once you buy this, you will want to throw out all of your old lens caps, as I have done.PROS:• It is easier to put on the lens.• It stays on the lens more securelyCONS:• It is not free.

I though I lost the stock lens cap to my Canon 18-200 1:3.5-5.6 that pinches around the outside, so I purchased this one to keep it covered up. The day the new cap arrived I found the old cap. I put this one on, made sure it fits. It feels much more sturdy, is easier to pinch, and seats much better than the stock cap. I am not worried about this one falling off. I put the stock one is storage and am using this one.

I really didn't pay much attention to lens caps until I jumped into DSLR video. I know many pro shooters are not fond of lens caps, preferring speed of run and shoot but still, I like to keep thousands of dollars of lens protected when not in use.And its a good thing I did, because a few months ago after a long trip, late-night return, I grabbed my camera bag () and tossed it to my shoulder anxious to get in the door. For the first time in my life, one of my lens, my favorite (135mm) went crashing to the ground in the dark because a side pouch was not secured.#%@#%(#*@#%! At first glance, all looked okay. Upon further review inside and in the morning, the lens cap took a direct hit and broke. Not a single mark on the lens - pure luck of the fall.Which led me to this quick, center pinch replacement. Totally converted now and have replaced all my caps to center-pinch Canon caps. For one, with the video, I shoot with a teleprompter glass/hood. Reaching into the hood to grab the old caps (sometimes it sits here for days, so I cap them) - a pain to find and release. Pinch-caps, no problem. Also, shooting with lens hoods (stills/videos) and now a large matte box (videos) is it SO much easier to reach into the center and pinch/pull.All other things being equal, I have to say - I think these center-pinch caps even look better, they look more rugged (although probably not) and they look more serious.Whatever your reason or your need, you won't be disappointed in these genuine Canon caps.

Typical high quality Canon product ... the difference of this product is ~ it's a center pinch lens cap. I ordered this for a friend when I received this on a new Canon lens I'd purchased (a lens that had been out for several years - not a "new on their lineup lens").It's extremely durable and well built - works exactly as designed. It is somewhat thicker (maybe twice as thick) as their older style lens caps to accomodate the center pinch feature. The center pinch - very easy to grab - even for those with large hands / fingers. There was no stiffness in the mechanism and it grabs at the edges very well.
