I was nervous spending this much on an item from Amazon but would do it again. If you're looking at this camera, you already know what it is and are probably more worried about the transaction

Update: 1. Canon is so greedy that even with original batteries from previous generations, half the functions don’t work. I ordered LP-E6 series P, but they’re simply out of stock.2. The camera produces noise in low light. I regret not getting a Sony.3. It overheats and shuts down while recording video. I broke out in a cold sweat when this camera turned off three times during a wedding ceremony shoot. My backup BMPCC 6K camera saved me, as it has been working flawlessly for three years nowCanon's decision to make third-party batteries incompatible with the new R5 Mark II can be seen as a short-term revenue strategy but one that carries significant long-term risks.By blocking the use of third-party batteries, Canon forces users to purchase their proprietary batteries, which are usually more expensive. This directly boosts Canon’s revenue from battery sales.Forcing customers to buy proprietary batteries may frustrate them, especially those who prefer more affordable third-party options. This can lead to dissatisfaction and damage Canon’s brand loyalty. Customers might start considering alternatives from other camera manufacturers that offer more flexibility. In the competitive camera market, users often choose brands based on the ecosystem and flexibility. If Canon's competitors offer more open systems with compatibility for third-party accessories, users might switch to those brands. Over time, this could erode Canon’s market share.Moves perceived as anti-consumer can tarnish Canon's reputation. In the age of social media, customer dissatisfaction can spread quickly, leading to a broader backlash. This can discourage new customers from choosing Canon products, fearing similar restrictive practices. While Canon may see an initial increase in revenue from the sale of proprietary batteries, the long-term consequences could be detrimental. The loss of customer trust and loyalty, coupled with the potential shift of customers to more flexible competitors, might outweigh the short-term financial gains. In a highly competitive market, such short-sighted moves could ultimately cost Canon more than they gain.

I love everything about this camera. The problem is Canon. I just learned from canon rumors website that the company plans on making you create a log on to use their software. Canon Connect software is needed for a lot of functions. When you read ‘create a log on’ think paid subscription. Even if it doesn’t, canon doesn’t need to know my personal info. That’s my choice to share. Canon used to be among the more moral companies. Over time they seem to be heading towards the dark side.

I do product photography of patches, and to show off their beauty you have to take a photo from an angle. With its focus stacking capability and producing a composite image all within the camera this thing has turned a 20 minute per patch job into a 30 second job. It's an amazing camera very fast. I don't understand how some people find issues with it, perhaps they've dropped theirs and blaming the camera for not working great.

I'm a retired pro photographer. I've use quite a few Canon, Nikon and Sony bodies. Before buying this one, I compared it to my Canon R5, and Sony A9II, my current favorite cameras. I bought this after reading about the autofocus capabilities, the pre-continuous focus feature, and a few other features Unlike some complainers here, I knew in advance that my older batteries, while they would work would not enable all features. No big deal. I also got the base model battery grip. Anyhow, I've loved the R5 and am keeping it, but the R5 II has those nice additional pro-ish features that are absolutely fabulous. The autofocus is at least as good or better than my Sony A9II. Not one complaint about how this camera performs, about grain, about the frame rate capability, about the new grip, or anything. I also like the time lapse feature where the camera creates the video of the frames, so I don't have to go into Photoshop to do that, as I do on my A9II. Super camera in all areas where I work, and that is in almost every area of image making.

Without Canon LP-E6P Lithium-Ion Battery camera is dead in the water and one battery that's someone would release a camera where batteries are limited. Looking for them but most I find are the old batteries that limit the use of the camera.
