This is the second CAMPLUX hot water heater I have purchased. I use this in a tiny house and the last one lasted for 7 years without a problem or concern. It provides plenty of hot water, takes up minimal space , and is easy to hook up.

It's working well so far. Hooked up 2 weeks ago and it's giving me hot water. I wash dogs with it all day long. Hubby says it wasn't hard to install. No leaks

For a device with only a couple of simple connections you would think they could get them right.First day, attached a standard NPT hose with rubber o-ring that had no leaking with anything else attached and pressurized (tested with a cap, inline shutoff valve and watering wand and trigger sprayer). The plastic tank connector sprayed water everywhere as soon as the line was pressurized no matter how many o-rings, rubber gasket seals, Teflon tape or straight connection attempts were tried.Brought in a plumber who took one look at the unit and told us it would never be watertight based on its poor design and low quality plastic materials used. Returned that same day with the additional expense of a professional opinion on why this particular item should be avoided.

Passed my expectations!I bought this to use for 3min navy showers in case of emergency. At first all we were getting was a couple minutes of usable hot water. But after installing a thermostatic valve and set at a comfortable 105degrees i tested for at least 10 min and no sign of the water getting cold. I used Oakley Grey tape 4 wraps minimum to seal all my threads. Not one leak. I set it up for testing purposes only before installing it like it's supposed to.

Very disappointed that after careful attention to the unit pipe connections....it leaks from inside. I used copper unions so the unit connections wouldn't be subjected to mechancal stress or heat. What a treat to wait an hour for it to heat up and find water all over the floor. I don't have the box or packing material because I don't know....I just expected it to work. What a waste of time and money and more time to ask for a refund.

Camplux is a good little water heater; I had a plumber put the 4-gallon water heater under a sink; it worked beautifully for a bit, but then it started to leak under the tank itself. I called the plumber, and we realized it was leaking from within. I contacted the company about it, and they were very professional. They took care of my problem quickly and sent out a new one to replace it. It was NOT their fault or my plumber's fault. It happens sometimes; who knows how or why it happen, but again, they were quick to solve my problem. That shows you how Camplux is a great company that stands behind its products. I would buy from them again, and y'all should, too.

Works well. Very convenient. The only thing I didn't like was that the company did not sell replacement elements, and they wouldn't tell me the specs so I could order one elsewhere.

To be sure we get instant hot water, I put a mini-tank under every sink in the house about 8 or 9 years ago. We love them and would never do without them again. Best and most cost effective way to get really instant hot water for hand washing, dishes, laundry sink. Only problem is they only last about 6 years or so, so you have to replace them. After about 6 years they begin to leak very slowly underneath. I installed mine sitting in cheap plastic storage tubs under each sink. Use a $10 water alarm in the tub to get early warning of a leak. You have to buy a size and brand that has shape and dimensions to fit under your sink and drain pipes, so plan carefully. I have several different brands and they all leak eventually. But for 6 years you get wonderful warm or hot water to wash your hands in without waiting forever. I've had this exact heater before (except a different brand name) and it has worked very well. Each heater only adds a dollar or two per month to your electric bill.

I was tired of waiting for the hot water to reach the faucet in our master bath in order to wash my hands in hot water. Because I now get hot water right away, I can wash my hands in a fourth of the time it used to take.I installed this unit in the cabinet below one sink. We have dual sinks with drawers in-between. The unit just barely fits between the existing plumbing, the sink, the wall, and the drawers. If like me you don't not have electrical below the sink, installing this unit will require some electrical work in addition to the plumbing. Because the water inlet and outlet did not match my faucet valve plumbing, I ended up going to two hardware stores to get the plumbing I needed to finish the job. This was further complicated by the fact I was connecting it to two faucets, the second of which an extension water line.I was fortunate that there was already a GFI electrical outlet on the wall next to the sink. I was able to drill a small hole in the cabinet under the sink directly below the outlet and then fish some 14-2 cable down the inside of the wall in order to add an outlet. As another reviewer noted, the power plug on this unit is pretty short, so an electrical outlet must be installed right next to it.One minor detail that I did notice with this unit is that the temperature of the water can vary several degrees due to hysteresis in the mechanical temperature control. I would have preferred a solid state temperature controller that could heat the water to a more consistent value. The current controller is certainly adequate, and can be set for very hot water -- it is just that your hot water will not always the same exact temperature each time you use it, depending on how recently the thermostat called for heat.
