This helps stop backflow from your RV water heater and into your freshwater system. Features a ½-inch male x female NPT. It is constructed of heavy-duty brass with a stainless spring. Quantity: (1) backflow preventer.

while it says it's for a water heater, i got it to go on a seaflo 55-series water pump while i was swapping everything out since it doesn't seem like the seaflo pumps have built-in check valves.just yeah definitely put it on BEFORE the pump on the vacuum side. seems weird, but you'll get weird cycling and pressure issues if you put it after. my pressure was a full 5 psi higher than it should've been and the pump didn't want to turn off completely until i moved it. lesson learned!

I needed two male ends to replace my part. This has one male one female end. Now I need to find a coupling.

I purchased the Camco RV Water Heater Backflow Preventer to address my issue with city water filling my freshwater tank in my RV, and it worked like a charm! I installed it on the suction side of the pump, and it completely resolved the problem. The installation was straightforward, and the product feels solid and well-made. It’s a must-have for any RV owner looking to prevent backflow issues. Highly recommended!

I had to get a lot of adapters to get the job done but the parts worked as intended.

I was having issues with the water pump on my camp trailer cycling on about every 15-20 minutes. I thought possibly I had a leak, but could never find it. I installed this backflow preventer on the inlet to the pump and the problem went away. The issue turns out to be the pump itself bleeding down. I haven't had an issue since installing the check valve. The quality of material is very good.

I used this to keep the city water from filling my freshwater tank in my RV. I put it on the suction side of the pump and it worked great!

I used this in a pressurized irrigation system from a rainbarrel. The diaphram pump was higher than the rainbarrel, so constantly running dry as the water backed up and the timer was off. This was the last piece that made it all finally work!Besides my happiness at getting the project to work, the actual piece was well marked, well threaded and good quality. I wish they had the option for a male to male end, because that would have been perfect for me.It might be interesting for some to note that I had it on the spigot of my rainbarrel for a minute, and the pressure wasn't enough from just gravity to allow the water to flow out of the rainbarrel. For a very low pressure system (gravity feed without a pump), you'll probably need a different piece - for me, the spring was perfect, and it worked better than a valve. The flow goes from male to female.

I bought these (one as a backup) for the hose that's used to supply water to my RV's black tank rinsing system.Big mistake on my part: They're too small for hose connections. If you ignore the fact that they're made by Camco (sellers of everything RV, including the water hoses that I've bought over the years) and actually read the description and packaging, you'll see that they are for heaters, not hoses. Mea culpa. The fittings seem to be well made, though.
