I bought this to protect the prongs on a 50amp RV connector hanging from the back of the truck. The silicone slid off the metal and required triple reapplication.

not entirely what I expected, but having looked around i think I should have expected something like this.It definitely does the job: I had a problem with an old (1998) head lamp connector. I greased it up with this stuff and I haven't had trouble since.

I needed to make the disconnection of some IP kind of connectors easier, and found this. It works but on the back label says that it is silicone based grease. I was looking for come "waterproof" kind of grease to put into the impeller of my aquarium filter, this thing worked there too. I think is cheaper to use Permatex Dilectric Grease (wich I think is the same thing: ). I didn't know it was silicone grease based until I saw the back of the product.

This works really well. If you have wall sockets that when you plug something into it and is a little stiff, just add a very small amount to the plug prongs and install it to the wall socket. It will lubricate it and make it easy to install or remove the plug with less resistance.
