My mother has used this brand of pans for years and has always raved about it. I seen it was on sale and was in the market for a new set of pots and pans and thought I would try them. I feel I’m getting my moneys worth with this set. This is a beautiful set. It’s very durable. Cooks my food up beautifully. The food does not stick to it but I also seasoned the set when I got it. It does say if food sticks or you have trouble cleaning just use some bar keepers friend on them. It’s a good weight. Cleans up easily. I don’t put them in the dishwasher because it is recommended to hand wash. Very functional. I would recommend.

These are really nice for a starter set. If you are thinking about making the switch from chemical lined non-stick pans, this is a great set to start with. The 3 skillets are perfect sizes for various types of cooking. The saucepans and strainer lids are great. They have small pour spouts on them, which was a surprising addition. I am old and had a set of wonderful Reverware stainless years ago, so not a novice, but haven't cooked with stainless in a bit of time. If you are making the switch, there are so many helpful tips on YouTube and simply on the Internet in a search (had to figure out cooking bacon). Liked these enough to get a set for one of my adult kids.

Received the package on time, and was at first happy to see everything has arrived safely, but after matching the lids to the pots and pan I discovered that the lids don't sit tight on the pans, there is a few millimeters gap between them. I have other Calphalone utensils previously purchased from amazon.com a few years ago and there the lids sit tight. For the price we had paid this is nonsense.Update: black stains after first use, very low-quality steel. Disgrace.

This set is sturdy but surprisingly light weight, and absolutely beautiful. Curing the frying pans made cleaning much easier. Initially I found the edges a bit sharp, but I have become accustomed to them. Exquisite looking set that cooks very well.

My mother bought this from my wish list as a house warming gift and it is great! The heat distributes evenly, it is so easy to clean(Bar Keepers Friend for the first wash and anything that does stick)I wouldn’t say it’s light weight, more medium weight if that makes sense

Let's start by simply stating that I love this line of cookware. It was only two years ago that I had replaced a badly worn set of non-stick with another non-stick set (Green Pan), that broke down immediately... To say that I was disappointed, doesn't really capture my feeling about non-stick cookware in general. Our other set of pans is a stainless Revere Ware set, which I enjoyed but my wife did not (they are very heavy and don't transfer heat very well). After much searching and discussion, we decided to abandon non-stick pans and to go with more stainless. Now, after only two months, we are planning on replacing the Revere Ware with another set of these Calphalon Classic. Why do I love them? - Sturdy build with strong bonds, perfectly weighted, efficient energy distribution, in pot measurement markings, and innovative lids which give more options for cooking (covered and vented) while enabling you to see and strain food and use fewer utensils. The pan handles stay cool enough to hold while heating the pan on the stove and they cool off pretty quickly when taken out of the oven. What can be improved? - The lid handles can get too hot to remove comfortably by hand. The set doesn't nest very well. The lids are awesome, but the strainer makes them thick and more difficult to store. For me, the pans nest best with the handles resting in the pour spout of the next largest pan, otherwise the handles will start to tilt further and further up and won't fit in my drawer. The trade off for reducing the handle height in storage comes in a much larger footprint, with the handles extending out at 90 degree angles. This won't be an issue for hanging storage.I also feel like I should respond to some of the other reviews that are critical of the pan surfaces. To be blunt, I haven't experienced any of these quality issues and have to attribute most of the complaints to inexperienced users. When used properly, these pans are much easier to care for and far more durable than non-stick varieties. Preheat the pans, for a minute or two, on medium heat before adding fats. De-glaze pans during cooking when sauteing or searing food. If you scorch a meal into a pan, boil and scrub it out. It's not the pan's fault you can't cook and non-stick technology isn't your savior... Lastly, discoloration and warping are mostly a product of overheating the cookware, especially when empty and clean. I haven't experienced any of these negative attributes, and with continued respectful usage, I don't expect to either.Once again, this cookware set meets and exceeds my expectations and I highly recommend them.

I love these pans but hate that the fry pans don't have lids! At least give me an option to buy the lids! How am I supposed to steam eggs?! Luckily my old pans that I replaced with these have lids that fit the fry pans. But now my set is mixmatched and it drives me bonkers. The handles do stay cool though and that's the only reason I'm keeping these. They also heat up quickly on the lowest setting on my gas range. Nice pans but so annoying that they don't all have lids. I'm shocked that the pot lids don't fit the pans too. I'm not asking for much here calphalon. At least have an option to buy them or make the pot lids fit the fry pans or something. The only fry pan with a lid is the biggest one. I use the smallest one the most to cook eggs and I use the lid to steam the top of the egg. Can't do that with these unless you have a lid from another set.Pros1) stay cool handles actually stay cool (base of handle can get warm but it's never hot unless you are really cranking up the heat which you never need to with these. Obviously handles get hot if you put in the oven / bake.)2) I like the curved edge and pour spout3) measure marks - never use because they are in metrics but if I knew the conversion rates it's a nice feature4) pan heats quick on low setting5) I like the clear lids and lids with the strainer6) good quality for the price - does come with less pans then others priced the same but you probably don't need the extra pans that come with other sets. Also, the other stainless steel ones get extremely hot handles (we tested them) and this was the only set that was stainless steel with cool handles in the price range.Cons1) no fry pan lids or lids that even fit the two smaller fry pans!2) doesn't have a very large stir fry pan - although I think you can buy this separately in a different style - wish you could add on the same BIG fry pan3) wish you could have more options to customize your set with identical pans/pots.All in all I like these pans. If my old lids didn't fit these smaller fry pans I'd be pretty peeved. I'm still annoyed I don't have matching lids but at least I can still cook while trying to find out if I can get lids for these. Still shocked that the pot lids can't fit the fry pans. For the price I'd still buy them though.
