Pretty decent come a along. It has a smooth action and is easy to unspool. I like that you can choose to have it run through the tackle block/hook or detach the hook from the frame and double the length of cable you have. I wish it had a longer cable, having to reset it all the time is annoying. It’s a lower end unit but it does have power enough.

My last come-along had rusted, and is such a handy tool that I wanted a replacement. This one functions similarly, it's totally manual, and a very basic unit. No bells and whistles, just solid performance. I don't have anything to test the full specs, but I did use it to rescue my zero turn from the mud this weekend and it had no issues.It's a pretty basic model, but for infrequent rescues, that's exactly what I need, and good value. For professional or frequent use, get something higher end.

I'm using it to move fallen trees. Seems to work fine. None of the trees are more than 10" in diameter, so it's not much of a stress test.It does the job I need it for, so I like it. :)

The hook safety catch is so long you can't even use it with something in the hook.It is also really sloppy and weak, it's going to be bent or broken off very easily.The ratcheting pawl only engages with half the spool tooth, and when it's under load you can see they are trying to twist themselves apart.The hook on the end of the cable is actuall Smaller than the other two hooks, and I'm not sure they are forged they look like cast iron.The handel lever has some really sharp edges below the black handgrip.This is just made too sloppy for me to recommend, especially when safety is concerned.Would probably work in a pinch but OSHA would cringe if they saw this on the jobsite.I Hope My Review And Pictures Were Helpful To You!!

Simple product, does what it's supposed to!I got this for both "rescue/towing" but mostly for tree felling. I use this & other chain come-along(s) to pull, swing, & "influence" trees to fall against their direction of lean when a mere notch & back-cut aren't sufficient. Normally by applying tension w/ this come-along, then securing a chain to actually bear the real weight when the tree comes down.So far, this hasn't let me down.Yes, the cable is a bit stiff, but I'll take that over a thin, weaker cable any day. And the option to unclip the cable for twice the length is great as well, especially when I may not need the added leverage of the snatch-block.Overall, no regrets w/ this. For the price, it does great. Yes, there are better ones out there, but surely not at this pricepoint.I'd definitely recommend & would definitely purchase again!
