It's easy to carry around and works great. The length might be annoying to some, but I appreciate the item's overall stability, as it works much better than smaller USB style ones I've purchased in the past.

I needed a small, portable, easily changed USB hub for computer installation and maintenance. This is now in my tool bag for when I unexpectedly run out of USB ports out there.USB hubs are ubiquitous. I picked this one because it has an integral uplink cable and its four downstream ports are spaced in a rough circle. For permanent installation, that might be awkward, but for quickly shoving a USB stick in to try something, it's great. This is plastic, so don't step on it, but it seems reasonably solid and the sockets are firm and within tolerances. USB 3 (presumably 5Gbps) is confirmed. It's bus powered, of course.

My Laptop has one USB port so this solves the problem with wanting to run multiple USB devices at the same time. I went with this type because of the short extension cable. Since the hub is out of the way, it doesn't clog up the right side of the PC. Every USB device I've plugged into it has worked, no issues, would highly recommend.

This hub gives You 4 extra USB 3 ports. Very small, very good. Maybe the cable is a bit short in certain cases but the product itself is top. I could reverse power also. I know that it is not recommended, however I was looking for this solution. I plugged a USB cable in 1 socket, and the other end of the cable is plugged in a powerful phone charger. That gives me enough power to use the remaining 3 port to plug in 3 USB powered external HDD: Everything works faultlessly for many weeks now. I can recommend this product .

I'm using this for some PC peripherals. It was true "plug and play", very happy about that. I do wish there were a way to more easily label the peripherals, but that's not unsolvable with other methods.Notable is the short cord. For my application, that's beneficial: it's one fewer thing shoved behind the back of the PC. Just make sure it's what you need.

This was exactly the perfect item I needed for my laptop. I bought a new laptop which only has one USB port, but I find I need to have more than one USB item plugged in at times. This little hub is perfect! The price point was great, and it does exactly what I need it to do. It has 4 ports, and I've used up to 3 at a time (mouse, keyboard*, and cell phone). It charges the cell phone while it's plugged in.* Why do I need to plug in a keyboard if I have a laptop computer, you might be wondering? Well, it's because this crappy laptop loses its ability to recognize its own keyboard. This is a Microsoft Surface at it's the most horrible laptop ever, so bonus review: Don't buy a Microsoft laptop! The first time the keyboard pooped out, I took it back to Best Buy where they reinstalled the operating system. That did the trick, but then 4 months later same thing happened again. That's when I bought this little gadget so I could plug in my external keyboard and my mouse. Then about a month later, the laptop's keyboard started working again. It's still only 10 months old, and it's given me more grief than any laptop I've ever owned. But thank goodness for this little 4 port hub; I'm sure I will be needing it again many, many times! I'm very happy with this port hub!

Excelente opción para multiplicar las salidas/entradas USB. El cable no es muy largo, pero suficiente para su uso. Esta pensado sobre todo para portátiles, ya que se apoya mejor en superficies planas que en torres, donde se queda colgando.

Excellent customer supportExcellent customer serviceThe Cable Matters 4 Port Ultra Mini is one of the smallest usb hubs around i was going to use it to connect 3-4 flash drives at the same timeand have a sort of mini ssd drive, well here's what happens, when 3 Sandisk 128gb flash drives are connected its imposible to transfer files because the hub keeps disconnecting from the computer, it seams to be underpowerd and not stable to use so i DO NOT recomend this hub at alland if you buy it you run the risk of LOOSING YOUR MONEY, IT WILL NOT WORK!!!!!Update April 12th 2016Updated review:Excellent customer serviceThe cable matters usb 3.0 octagonal hub is a 4 port usb high speed hub that's one of the smallest ones on the market and the Only hub that's flat round and compact, to me is a big advantage when you're on the go, the hub was tested on a 2015 MacBook Air 13 inch, with 2 128gb Sandisk ultra fit and 1 64gb Sandisk ultra fit flash drive, 1 Sandisk Extreme 64gb flash drive, 1 silicone power 16gb flash drive, 2 Samsung fit 128gb flash drives and 1 Seagate 1tb hard drive. Data transfer rates depended on the speed of the media and seemed unaffected when transferring multiple 2, 3 and 5 gb files both between the drives and the drives and computers.Power output is great on All 4 ports.PROSCompact hubFastUSB 3.0 speeds4 slots.Virtually flat.Power output is great on All 4 ports. Can be used as a small SSD with multiple flash drives. (Sandisk ultra fit 128gb NOT recommended with this hub, has disconnection issues).CAN connect with a power bank and charge more than one item at the same time, amperage and voltage is excellent.Lays flat in accessories case. A BIG PLUS!DurableExcelent customer service you WILL NOT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THEM.My current use is this, I use it as aSsd with 2 Samsung 128gb fit flash drives, 1 logitech unifying receiver and the 4th port can handle whatever else I need the good thing is that these items are left on the hub all the time, just have to disconnect the hub put it back on the accesories case and that's it, don't have to worry about loosing the drives or the small receiverNow so far this is THE ONLY HUB I've found that could do all of THIS so well , so based on this and the Excellent Customer service you CAN and SHOULD get this, with the peace of mind that Cable matters stands behind their products.Cons:UnpowerdSandisk ultra fit 128gb might have issues with this hub. What would I improve:L. E. D. s on all 4 portsOther colors

Device itself is fantastic, I am running into one problem and not sure who is at fault. I am trying to use my Logitech MX Master mouse USB receiver with this device and my 2015 MacBook Pro. When plugged in the mouse jumps all over the screen and is not fluid at all, I have tried all 4 ports. When I pug the receiver directly into my computer it works fine. I am thinking maybe there is just some communication issues between the two technologies. For now I am using the port on my MacBook, but that kind of takes the point out of the purchase in the first place. Works great for my external hard drive though, USB 3.0 is a major plus, and it lays flat which is really cool.So if you are buying this for the purpose of using a USB receiver, but aware you might have issues.
