This tool may be intended for tracing low voltage wire runs but it worked perfectly for finding a broken 120VAC romex wire in my wall. I made sure the circuit was unpowered at the CB panel, then installed the signal generator at the dead outlet and traced the wire through the wall back to the feeder outlet where the signal stopped. Not sure I would have ever found the break without this tool. It would be handy for wringing out wire runs for multiple circuits as well. Great find!

I needed to trace some wires on a car. I connected the red alligator clip of the sender to the end of the wire I was tracing and the black one to ground and then touched multiple wires in that harness with the receiver probe. They all behaved the same including the one the red lead was connected to, therefore the results are useless! I am really upset and disappointed because I am color blind and got this to help me trace the wires. I have wastied my time, energy and money and am back at square one.

The product came as expected, but also in a nice case. A little bit less useful than most set an only has an RG 11 plug and not an RJ 45.
