Although the packaging, case, and appearance of this piccolo are quite nice, its actual function is not acceptable. I played flutes and piccolos all over the world for the last 50+ years. This one leaks throughout—a few notes play okay, but most sound at least airy and some don’t sound at all. I can’t tell what material the pads are made of, but they don’t seal, causing air to leak through, which causes the notes not to sound correctly—and some notes not to sound at all. I realize this was a cheap piccolo, but hoped I could get a year or so out of it before it went down. However, it sounded this bad right out of the box. I will be returning it.
