I have previously owned bush desks and they were very sturdy and lasted for years. Unfortunately, in this case thermally fused laminate is a just a a thin layer on top of the manufactured wood this is made out of. Another unfortunate design choice is the cam locks that hold this desk together. Incorporating more screws in the design could have made this sturdier. Made the mistake of trying to slide it across the carpet and it nearly came apart.
