A little watery but you can work it into an okay lather. I use the conditioner with it. Not over perfumed and does not irritate my dog

I had high hopes for this shampoo - purchased a 2-pack during a Black Friday sale to prep for washing two black labradors in the future. Unfortunately, this shampoo is arguably the worst shampoo I’ve ever used.First, the shampoo has a consistency close to water. To put it in perspective: the cap was loose when I opened the two pack and I knocked over the first bottle while prepping a dog bath. The shampoo chugged out of the bottle like spilling a glass of water.Second, there is near-zero lather when using this. Similarly, I honestly felt like trying to lather with only water was easier and produced more suds and covered more dog area than this shampoo. After washing two labs one time, I had used more than half of a bottle just because the coverage is terrible.I threw out the remaining half bottle and the remaining full bottle after one bath. This might work on hairless dogs - can’t say - but if your dog has actual fur, I’d recommend trying something else.

I got this for my maltipoo, I was happy when it came but I was surprised at how thin it was. I have a 5lb dog and it's consistency isn't much more than water, it also doesn't lather as much as you might expect. I didn't harm my puppy and it isn't loaded with perfume. I don't like how thin it is, not only will I be going through this faster then I expected, but it's inconvenient having to get more shampoo when your dog is trying to escape. I won't be buying this again, it just won't work for my needs. I could work for someone with a different dog.

Well, the smell isn’t wonderful, but not horrible. Left my dogs coat nice and soft but be warned it does not make suds. Bubbles are created by an additive since this is a natural product it doesn’t have it, so most people will find it hard to spread around since there is no lather.

Burt's Bees dog shampoo provides a great lather and gentle cleaning. It has no harsh chemicals or perfumes to irritate a dog's skin. Excellent to avoid itchy rashes or reactions caused by other products.

Ya lo pobre y no es mejor que otros, es muy caro a diferencia de otros shampoos que te dan el mismo beneficio sin pagar de mas

For the past 2 years our french bulldog has suffered skin issues. Like other reviewers- we were in search for a better shampoo! After going through all other avenues such as diet, environment, allergies etc, the skin issue persisted & with much suffering & discomfort. (White bulldog woes)I never knew Burt’s Bees had dog products!! (Shame on me). On a whim after so many failed products (prescription & non) I gave this a try. Holy moly!! I kid you not -it’s as if our pup felt relief after one wash. He had some active flaking & red itchy spots before using this. Hours later - he’s lying in bed carefree, not itching or constantly licking himself! (No meds needed to make it through the night either)I will post an update after more future washes. But I can’t get over how content he is, not to mention how soft, shiny & clean his coat looks & smells. I hope this helps some hopeful pet parents with sensitive pups too! Thank you Burt’s Bees!!

My 5-month-old golden retriever mix pup looks great after her bath, and does NOT have a heavy perfume smell, just a soft, clean fragrance, which I really like. Her fur is shiny, and she is not scratching as much, so I think the shampoo did a good job of gently moisturizing her skin. All this is GOOD.But, as many others have pointed out, there is virtually zero suds, so it's really hard to tell if you have adequately covered any particular section of skin. We applied a fair amount it to her wet coat at her neck, and along her back, and slowly added more water, working the shampoo down her sides to her legs, then we applied another dollop at the base of her tail, and worked it down her tail, down her butt, and down the "feathered" backs of her legs. We massaged the shampoo into every nook and cranny, occasionally adding a bit more shampoo when we couldn't feel it. Then we rinsed her THOROUGHLY, twice.Like I said, the shampoo does a good job...but we used about 25% of it for one bath. That seems like too much, but we only added more when we really couldn't feel it anymore. I wish the Burt's Bees folks would add just a bit of mild detergent, so it would foam up just a little.

We use this on our black lab (12 week-old 23 lbs) and it does a phenomenal job. If you're looking for a long lasting scent, this isn't it, but it does leave a gentle faint scent that helps dampen our pup's very strong musk. It cleaned his fur perfectly and got a ton of his loose fur out of his coat before any drying or brushing. His coat dried through quickly and while we had to use more shampoo than we anticipated, the size of the bottle makes it more than reasonable. Definitely recommend lathering in your hands first before rubbing into fur.
