The riser itself is very solid but it has excessive clearance on my picatinny rails. When I attempted to tighten the fastners enough to "take out" the lateral wobble, the fastner heads want to strip out. Dissapointing because I purchased these risers specifically because of the Burris trademark. I had to use shimstock and new fastners to get a solid platform for the sights on my rifle.I feel in hindsight that I may as well have bought some of the much cheaper "junk name" risers that are readily available on the internet. I can't recommend these risers as I usually make it a practice to spend a little more and get something I can depend on.

I bought this riser inspite of reviews saying it is too loose on a standard picatinny or weaver rail thinking I might be able to make it work anyway. It did fit after using a small C-clamp to help it snug up to the picatinny rail then tightening the screws. The result was the top portion became arched so I had to file it flat. The fit is about 1.5mm too wide to fit a standard picatinny. If you want a precise mount this is not for you. I spent an hour or more doing the modifications. The machine work and finish are acceptable. Yankee Hill Machinery makes a similar product but actually fits and is US made. This Burris is the familiar Chinese knock-off.

This riser is well made and will do exactly what you want it to do but.....The tool sent will not allow you to torque down the bolts as much as needed to get a firm and tight fit. Others have stated it would not fit tight and would wobble around on installation. This is true using the wrench sent with the product. However, if you use a better driver that will allow you to add additional torque it not only fits great and solid but will do exactly what you want. I used a larger driver with blue Loctite and was able to clamp down firm and secure. I wanted to raise my sight mount about 1/2 inch and it took two to do this but it worked great. I am very happy with the results. I would have given the product 5 stars if the manufacturer had either sent a tool that would allow this or had stated in the instructions you may need to use another tool. Would I recommend? Yes, if you need another 1/2 inch and have the tools to make the mount secure. For me and my application, it works great.

The riser has two bolts that are significantly smaller than the rail slots. The bolts are torx head instead of hex, and a small wrench is included. The riser itself fits very loosly on the rail; there is no snugness at all, so you have to tighten it up. The riser does not have a movable side that allows easy tension; instead the riser has a vertical slot in the center line, which is intended to allow you to tighten the two sides together. The instructions say to tighten the bolts to 40-45 ft lbs. The bolts have a very shallow torx head cut, so the wrench fits poorly in the bolt head.As a result, the wrench can't be used to tighten the bolts to 40-45 ft lbs. without it constantly falling out or stripping the bolt head. Without it tight, it is very wobbly due to the small size of the bolts.

I bought this to raise up my MRDS sight to be in line with my Eotech magnifier. It installed easily and lined up perfect. Lots of buyers complain they dont fit tight. You just have to tighten them down good. Look at the picture and you can see the slot cut in it to allow it to pinch together on the riser for a tight fit. Put some elbow grease behind it and tighten it down. Works like a charm. This is my second one and both work great and tightened down fine.

It was inexpensive, it was quick getting here, and it is just what it looks like. It is of one piece construction so, it does not fit well, I had to slide it on my rail from one end and then tighten the screws as tight as I could to keep it from sliding back off. It is still very loose and it rattles around whenever I touch the firearm. It will kind of due, until I get a better one and I will get a better one. Remember, we get what we pay for and only very seldom do we get the GREAT deal.

I have also struggled getting this mount tight on my upper. But once it's on its on. Works great with the fastfire red dot. It is a pain to get it tight enough. But the mount fits clean and flush, you certainly don't have to worry about it coming loose or the screws backing off durning a hunt and possibly loosing your optic. Just don't get frustrated, keep twisting that little wrench or use an actual set of torque wrenches and really crank down on it. Just make sure you have the sight at the proper placement before going through all of the trouble.

I had exactly the same experience as everyone else reviewing this rail: You place the riser on your rail, tighten it up with the tool they provide, and it slides around about 3-4 millimeters in either direction. At that point you're about to either send it back, or throw it in the trash, and curse the name of Burris - swearing you'll never buy their products again. The tool they provide is not suitable for the task. It tightens the rail just enough to make you think you have it as tight as it will go. At that point you'll not be able to tighten it anymore with their tool, and you'll think they've created a rail that doesn't bind correctly to your original picatinny rail.At that point, go to your socket set, get the appropriate match (mine was a T-13), and really tighten it up. After you get it to turn once more, you'll find it will turn several more times. It will now lock on very tightly, and do exactly what you intended.I'm not going to deduct them a point for providing a flimsy tool, as virtually everything I buy comes with some kind of allen wrench or similar, they're all fairly useless, and I think it's reasonable to expect people to have some of the basic tools in their home.I only wish they'd not included that tiny wrench, as that's making everyone think their product is designed incorrectly.

It slides into the main rail fine. The two bolts/screws that hold it in place are narrower than the grooves, so the riser moves. That definitely moves your scope when firing. So far, I can't find a riser that is snug.
