I got this for traveling so I wouldn't have to rely on insecure, public wifi. Yeah, I could have invested in a VPN service, but call me old fashioned.I bought a sim from Tmo that works great. Wifi speeds are good and cell data speeds are good (so far). The management portal is a bit wonky, but once you dig in to it, it will all make sense.Overall, works great so far. I will update this review after I get back from my next trip.

The device arrived with an absolutely empty battery, so I had to charge it first before I could use it. Furthermore, the operating instructions contain no information on how and where to insert the SIM card.Once I had charged the battery and finally figured out where to insert the SIM card, the device worked reasonably well. Unfortunately, the touchscreen is quite insensitive, so you usually have to press it several times to trigger a function. Once you get used to it, the navigation is relatively transparent.What I haven't understood yet is whether the device works with 4G and 5g or only with 4G. Both options are selectable in the corresponding menu, however, it says in the description that the device is only designed for 4G. Once I got it to work, access to WiFi is easy, you get an access point, enter the password and have access to the Internet.I haven't yet found out whether there are offers that really make it cheaper this hotspot when traveling instead of buying an international pass from your cell phone operator. I still have to do this research but if that is the case then this device is very practical as it is relatively small and once you get it up and running it is easy to use.
