Your cart is empty. Bell: 4 1/2 X 2 4/5 X 2 4/5 Inches / Dorje: 3 1/2 inches This item includes one Bell, one Dorje, and one wood striker. The dorje and bell are the primary Ritual Tools of Tibetan Buddhism. Together they represent many layers of intricate symbolism & meaning & are used in almost all Tibetan ritual ceremony. DORJE As the male principle the dorje is the quintessential symbol of the 'diamond mind of enlightenment' so hard that it is able to cut through all illusions & deceits and arrive at the clear light of truth in its two forms. These two forms of truth are symbolized by the two pronged dorje. The central hub from which the prongs arrive represents the sphere of actual reality. From this sphere arise two eight petaled lotuses crowned by two full moon 'discs' from which emerge the five upper & lower prongs. These five represent the Five Buddha families, the five elements, and the five skandhas. It is held in the right hand and twirled according to the pattern of the particular ritual, where it also represents 'skillful method'. BELL As the archetypal feminine principle the Dill boo [bell] represents the perfection of wisdom which directly perceives the primordial nature of shunyata [emptiness]. Its sound describes emptiness as it the sound arises from silence and dissolves back into silence. As such it represents the mandala of creation & dissolution; the bottom rim of the bell reps the disc of emptiness from which all arises, these being symbolized by the ring of lower dorjes. The main feature of the handle is the face of Vajra-para-mita, the greatest Goddess representing the union and perfection of all wisdom and awareness. From her elaborate crown rise the five wisdom jewels which form the vajra cap to the bell. Note: the sound will vary some as they are each hand cast and slightly different.

Look and feel cheap. The sound of the bell is not good. Returned the item 2 days later and the seller did not issue the refund. Refund is being handled by Amazon. Do not buy from this seller

The color is slightly different than it was in the picture, but I like that the blended color of gold on the handle and the silver/gold on the bottom give it a unique look. I like things that look aged and different than something someone else may have. It came in great condition and on time. I would suggest cleaning the bell and Dorje with soap and water, because it did leave a black smudge on my hands when I first used it, that did wash off immediately. It's very pretty and I'm so happy I purchased it for the healing sound that my soul enjoys hearing every time I use it.

I recently purchased this incredible Tibetan Bell an Dorje Set for my husband for his birthday and he absolutely loves it! He uses this set any chance he gets, my husband is a disabled combat vet who has spent alot of time with Buddhist Monks they even gave him a blessed Dorje! He has some pictures around the house of him with the monks too, I love hearing his stories from his times with them! He has read the Tibetan book of the dead many times, he is very close to the monks an the Tibetan/Buddhist culture! He uses his prayer beads daily an he really has a deep appreciation of all things Buddha an Tibetan! So when he saw this set he was so happy an excited! He showed me how this set works an the sound is great, it brings a calm an peaceful presents, it helps us be more centered an more aware of how amazing life around us can be an is, it makes us feel like no matter what we are going to be ok an that things are good! This set is made with the utmost respect an honor it is made with very high quality materials an we are so very blessed to have these incredible items! When ever I hear my husband use his set I know that he is content an feeling well connected to his inner peace! This set has brought us joy an we are proud to have a part of this amazing history! Thank you for making such a beautiful awe inspiring product that we can bond over an have for the rest of our lives! I just love this bell! It has such a sweet voice and it resonates for a good long time after being rung or struck. You get a completely different tone depending on whether you ring it by swinging it, thus engaging the clapper or if you strike it with the wooden striker. And the dorje has good heft and balance, although it does have a few rough edges, but nothing that can't be easily smoothed with an emery board.
