I have made several Bucilla stockings and this one seems to have been the easiest. This would be a good stocking to start on if you have not made one before. The instructions show you the proper stitches for pieces and embellishments.You need to be aware that Bucilla stockings are not a "weekend" project. They take upwards of 80 hours to complete. This stocking specifically took me two weeks to complete, spending about eight hours a day. I spend a bit more time than necessary since I re-enforce the embellishments and some of the seams.This stocking is an heirloom, but I want the kids to be able to use them so I do what I can to add additional strength. If they are simply for decoration then you could complete yours in less time.The process of making a Bucilla stocking is a stress reliever for me but if embroidery is not your thing it could probably be quite stressful for you. There are great tutorials online if the written instructions are hard to interpret.Overall, I love this stocking and all the Bucilla Stockings.

Bucilla makes excellent felt kits for holiday stockings and ornaments. The directions are clear and the kits include most everything you’ll need except for polyfill stuffing. I’d also recommend buying felt glue as it comes in handy to hold pieces together as you appliqué stitch them on. There are lots of videos on YouTube and Facebook groups where you’ll also find great helpful tips.
