My grandmother sews a stocking for each of the grand and great-grand kids in our family when were born! She's been using these kits since my brother was born back in 1984! My best friend and her husband did not have any stockings so to I decided give it a shotand buy this kit. It's not perfect, by all means, but it was pretty simple to put together.it takes a few weeks to complete if you have a full time job like I do but it still was very fun to create!

I have done many of these Bucilla stocking kits over the years and I always thought they were the highest quality. However, this last kit has been very difficult to do. I have had trouble getting the pieces to fit right on the stocking, and sometimes the instructions seem wrong. Having done so many in the past, I'm able to figure out a better way to do it. The most disappointing part is the thread. The quality is not good, it is thinner than regular embroidery thread and it is constantly getting tangled and knotted. Come on Bucilla, the prices keep getting higher, and the quality is getting poorer.

I have used Bucilla Christmas stocking kits for my husband and myself, then for our 2 children, 5 grandchildren and now I am finally getting around to making one for our daughter-in-law and son-in-law! I especially like the quality of the felt in these kits. The instructions are quite thorough, even for beginners. Unfortunately, with the 2 kits that I have just purchased, there were some issues...almost half of the beads wouldn’t fit over the needle eye and couldn’t be used. There were many deformed white sequins, which I wouldn’t use. Two colors of embroidery floss were pieced together with knots! One needle was all bent, but they both had tiny eyes and it was impossible to thread them without a needle threader! I did call customer support and they are sending me more sequins and beads. This company is very accommodating and their representatives are pleasant and helpful!I also purchased little iron-on “Made by Grandma” labels for the back of the finished stockings!The stocking design is adorable, but does require a lot of embroidery, appliqués and lots of time! These stockings look absolutely beautiful on the fireplace mantle at Christmas!

Dear wife misread one of the instructions and had to undo/redo some of it. Fortunately it was very early in the process and didn't cause any ultimate problems. And the problem was hers...simply not reading ALL the words. :-) Despite this, all turned out great and son-in-law will be very happy that he now has his own stocking. :-)Good product, everything included, end product exactly as pictured. Delivered on time. Would certainly recommend.
