I have made several Bucilla pieces as I love the quality of the felt. Very festive themes on offer, hard to choose just one item.

I love these stocking kits, all of my nieces and their children have had one at their first Christmas! I’m now waiting for the children start producing new babies. You can’t beat Bucilla for felt products.

This is my 10th Bucilla stocking kit. This is a simple design good for a beginner or if you're short on time. The instructions are quite easy. Read the instructions all the way through before starting. Don't let the embroidery instructions scare you. There are a lot of videos on YouTube that help.Be organized. One of the pictures I'm providing shows a coffee cup tree, which I also bought from Amazon, to hang my scissors on. I added the idea of putting the tree on a Lazy Susan, this way smaller items will be handy. The lazy Susan also bought from Amazon. I love this idea.To save time I now do all the same color of sequence at one time. When working with sequins and beads I put them on a small plastic kids plate that has a ridge so the seed beads don’t roll off.I also add my own touch. An example: the first stocking I put together had Santa holding a blonde haired dolly, but because my granddaughter is a brunette I bought brown yarn and gave the dolly long braids. Also for the name, I find a "free" font on the internet and put a paper over the letters on my laptop screen and trace.Advanced: In the third picture you'll see that I cut all the pieces. I then place them the way they are in the instructions. I then do the application of neighboring pieces.Enjoy!!!I made another this time I stuffed the beard the second time. I twisted 2 threads for the name. I also used some scrap felt and appliquéd it to the back of the leafs I like the loose look.I never use the lettering that comes with the kit. I found a free font website and I trace the name from my laptop. The only thing I don’t like about these kits is the print is done in black ink. When doing the straight lines I use 4 strands so the print doesn’t show.

Just started working on the stocking. I've made over twelve Bucilla stockings over the years and this one is justas well designed and attractive as the others. Directions are clear and easy to follow. If you're a beginner,I feel certain you'd have great success with this one---especially since there are a minimum number of pieces.I've made some stockings with over 120 pieces, so 39 is a "piece of cake." I've found that using a plastic pilldispenser to seperate the beads and sequins by color is a trick I learned to keep these pieces intact and easy to use.

The stocking is very pretty when finished, but I ran out of white sequins and thread. I had extra thread, but it was difficult to find sequins that matched. Overall, it was pretty easy to do. I am a novice, and it took me about two weeks to complete. The directions were difficult to understand, so I watched YouTube videos on how to do the different stitches. The only changes I made were to use gold sequins for the name instead of plain thread, had to space it out a little more but the results look great, and I used gold thread and a blanket stitch on the edges to make it more decorative. I suggest sewing the red stripes on the top of the stocking to the white strip before sewing the white strip to the top. The directions say to sew the red stripes on after appliqueing the white strip to the top, but that is more difficult to do.
