We had a queen sized chenille bedspread for years until we replaced our bed with this king sized adjustable bed. I looked Everywhere local to find another bedspread that I liked, but found nothing. I spent a year with a duvet that I hated until I finally decided to give this a try. I washed it twice immediately. Check the lint trap every 15 minutes because it will shed A Lot, but we use our lint to clean our wax pots so it's just extra firestarters for us. It's so soft, feels very nicely made. It's a thin bedspread, not the heavy chenille version, which I love. We keep a fleece blanket on during winter and this is absolutely perfect in summer with a top sheet. I got the matching shams, too. I don't like the floppy trim on those, but that's just me. The spread is nicely sized so it covers our bed frame all the way around. I added a skirt because our new bed has ugly posts and wires that show otherwise. This is a great value for the money. It reminds me of my Grandma and anything that makes me think of her is always good. I was torn between thr olive green and the cream, but I love how light the room looks with cream. If you're on the fence, jump off and hit buy now!

When I took the spread out of the bag, I was so excited. It was beautiful. But once I washed it, not only did it have so much dye that it turned the inside of my washer red, it shed so much I thought there was a sheep inside the blanket. I washed it three times and it still left mountains of stuff in my dryer and all over the floor when I took the spread out of the dryer. Let's not even talk about the dryer filter. And, after the third washing, there are tears in various places where the tufting gave way. I tried to clean my washer out. I did two loads of towels and whatever that wouldn't turn color and wouldn't hold onto the extra fluff. But when I washed my white blanket, there was still enough dye in the washer that it turned my blanket pink. All I can say is don't buy it.

Everything I hoped for! The color is a bit darker/richer than the photos capture. Think old gold. As you can see, it very much complements my antique furniture, and my doggo approves. You can see the length is nice. I considered getting a full for my queen as I didn’t want it dragging on the ground, but I’m glad I bought the queen size.I truly don’t understand any of the negative reviews or comments. I did check for the smell that was reported. With my nose right in it, it has a slight different smell, maybe like a little spearmint? Nothing noxious. I assume it will shed the first couple or few washes, but that will probably make it a bit fluffier and softer. It’s just gorgeous, lightweight and perfect. The only thing of note (no issue for me) is if you look at the pattern, it doesn’t lay on the bed exactly as shown in Amazon pics, with the oval lattice at the edge of the mattress. For me, this is great as I was concerned the pattern might be too precise and to be a little bit of a hassle to keep lined up evenly all the time. Now that isn’t going to be a problem. This gets my highest recommendation for anyone wanting to bring yesterday’s timeless styles into their home. ♥️♥️♥️

Update: I have washed it twice. It still looks good, didn't fall apart, although fair warning, the second wash STILL left a ton of gold lint in the washer & dryer lint screen, as much as the first wash. That doesn't bother me too much because anything you buy like towels leaves a lot of lint the first few washes. It has shrunk, now a couple more inches shorter on the sides, which I was afraid of, however I still don't regret buying the queen size for my queen bed, the king would be so bulky and touching the floor, plus It would be so cumbersome to wash, probably not fit in the washer.Original review: I bought the Queen size in GoldPro’s= perfect gold color, the ‘look’ that I wanted,Con’s= smells bad, very thin, expensive, the queen is a tad short for an average queen bed.I paid $123.52 total, including tax. To me, that’s an outrageous price for a bedspread. However, I haven’t bought a bedspread in many years. I had no idea they were so high. Perhaps just the chenille ones who knows. I was looking for one like my grandmother had. This one looked ok so I took the chance.I have included pictures. I read many reviews, and true to what many said, this thing stinks to high heaven! Right out of the bag, we’re talking whatever smell that is, chemical, or the bag itself, wow its really strong & awful! The smell permeated the house within a few minutes. Now normally, anything I buy gets thrown in the wash right out of the bag, but after reading reviews, I wanted to lay it out on the bed its going on, to see if there’s any stains, discoloration, holes, tears, and to make sure it fits ok. All beds are different, & some reviews stated that they purchased a king size for their queen bed, because they wanted it to touch the floor. For me, I don’t want that. I have OCD, and I don’t care how clean my floors are, I don’t want anything on my bed touching the floor, it creeps me out lol. So I decided to go with the queen size for my queen bed. This is the guest room so it wont be getting used hardly ever. I just wanted the look. It is quite thin, but I don’t see any flaws, ( I haven’t looked that close) & I can’t necessarily see through it when its on the bed. The pictures I included are straight out of the bag, before being washed. I am scared to wash it, as it might shrink or rip, or become even thinner than it is.As far as the smell, after having it lay on the bed for about 4 days, the bad smell dissipated slowly until I didn’t smell it at all upon walking in the room. Its been on the bed about a week now, & I’m getting ready to wash it.As far as measurements, my queen bed is 29 inches from floor to top of mattress, and there’s about 4 inches of clearance from bottom of fringe to floor. I would’ve been happier if there was no more than an inch of clearance, that way there’d be a little leeway for shrinkage & still be an acceptable distance from fringe to floor. I may not want it actually touching the floor, but I do wish it was longer on the sides out of the bag. It would be fine as it looks now, but as I said, I don’t know how much it will shrink. Obviously, if the bed wasn’t so tall, it would fit perfect.
