I love the sleek look of the machine as well as the smoothness of the keyboard. This appreciation however goes to the manufacturer. The following now goes to the guys who sent me the same item :The ink cartridge was empty and could not even print the demonstration.Furthermore, the correcting ribbon had become loose on its left side - the right side being still attached -and escaped inside the machine. So far, I am unable to see if the machine still has anything to secure a new correcting ribbon on the left.Since it is a discontinued item, I don't expect any help, except for the ink cassette which I can still find online. Correcting tapes are also on line, but shall I have a problem with securing the next one ? I have to take care of other problems before I can go all out on that one. Put it kindly : DISAPPOINTING.Last observation I was surprised to see the package arrive in a very light

Bonne machine à écrire. Par contre le clavier est allemand donc pas d'accents. Il faut aussi acheter un adaptateur secteur. Sinon satisfaite de cette machine!!

This type writer is amazing! It's very easy to use and even portable. Stock up on correction tape though, especially when you're first learning how it works. Since the cartridges and such can become expensive after a while I wouldn't suggest using it for huge projects (I.E. writing a novel) but more for crafting and decorative purposes. The type looks very vintage-cool on cards, labels, and signs. Definitely a suggested purchase for crafters, writers, teachers, students, artist, or anyone else looking for a satisfying and instant way to write.

I did a lot of research on typewriters prior to purchasing this one. It writes wonderfully, but it does have its idiosyncrasies (e.g. where the function keys are placed, sometimes you type without response and then it prints it out all at once after you aren't typing). The first few times I used it were a bit frustrating, but after I got used to it then it was fine. I did not have any broken keys or anything wrong with the product out of the box. I have had it for a few months and still don't have any problems. Remember, it is not a computer, it is not going to type like a computer, and the keyboard is going to be a little different. It does not keep up with my computer typing speed, but it probably types around 50 wpm if you don't make mistakes and need to go back. The correction tape works well and it takes up all of the black printed onto the paper, but there is still a letter indent on the paper after the black is removed. Be careful to make the distinction between the error correct key and the backspace early on. Otherwise a great product that I totally recommend! It gets four stars rather than five because of the idiosyncrasies that you have to get used to.

Purchased mainly to type envelopes and labels - faster for that than my computer. After reading the reviews I didn't expect a lot. It is okay for that purpose. Every time something is purchased, the quality is less and less. Very light weight. Don't know if you used it a lot every day if it would last but for light typing it is okay. Haven't purchased a typewriter in a long time so I don't know how it would measure up to any others on the market. For the price, it is okay so far.

I have only owned this typewriter for about a month at this point and it works great. It has really helped pull me out of my shell and get me writing again. I have a software testing job that requires me to spend 10+ hours a day in front a computer screen, and when I get done with that I don't want to type on a normal keyboard, staring at the same screen I have been all day. I wanted a break; something different - and while I enjoy writing in a journal, I wanted something I could do a bit faster. The WPM is great; though keep in mind if you are a speed typist this will take a second or two to catch up - but it hasn't faltered on me yet. It is noisy, as to be expected, though less so than an old, manual machine - and it take awhile to get used to the different commands for formatting if you've never used a typewriter like this before. But all in all, this has been a great machine for me. Will it be for you? Who knows. All I can say is, thus far, I dig it.

My daughter was so looking forward to receiving this for a much-wanted birthday gift.(As mom, I think I was just as excited. This meant to be her "wow" gift). When it arrived, she was elated....then we opened the box, got it plugged in and ran the demo. Everything seemed good to go....until she started typing on it when we realized that the space bar does not work. Tried again and again. Still nothing. How disappointing!!!!Thankfully, I was able to get ahold of Amazon customer service and the very kind and professional young man I spoke with didn't skip a beat. It's on its way back to amazon; hopefully, the return and refund process will be wrinkle free.Just an update to add that the return and refund process was hassle free. Though I hate that there was a problem with this, Amazon handled everything like true pro's. Two "thumb's up"!

I need a typewriter because I do a lot of work with NYC agencies that still use paper forms. As someone who has never used a typewriter in their life, I found this typewriter easy to use.The typewriter is small, light and manages to fit into the corner of my office without being obtrusive. Despite it's small footprint, it types well and does not come across as flimsy or cheap. The buttons on the keyboard are easy to press and spring back nicely. The clicking is heavy and may be too loud for some people. I personally find the clicking sound very satisfying.I really like the white-out function. I am prone to make typos and the white-out does a really good job in erasing the errors I make. There is a guide built in to the typewriter that helps me type on the lines. I now use this typewriter to type out stuff on envelopes, checks, etc. I find it very easy to use it for quick, small typing jobs.

Just right for what I wanted it for. Teach kids to typebefore computer, & help with spelling. This way they are learning two things @ once. Works great, very quiet & operator friendly, kids don't have a problem catching on to all the functions. Ages 7 & 8. Price was good, not budget breaking. We use it daily & so far no complaints. Would recommend to anyone for a beginner typewriter.
