This scanner just works. Bit of setup out of the box to get the Brother iPrint & Scan installed, but once done, press one button, it takes in documents from the scanner, processes them the way I've told it to, and dumps the OCR'ed compressed high quality PDF into a directory on my home server. It just works, and that's the highest praise I am capable of giving a device like this.

DO NOT BUT BROTHERS PRODUCTS. I spent 3 hours trying to install the operating software and then trying to reach product support. This is the second time that I have had trouble with Brothers. Their products get great reviews in tech magazines and WireCutter but then if you have any trouble installing or using you can't get stuck. Im no tech wizard nor am I a dummy but this is unreasonable. In my frustration I accidentally opened a 3rd party hep site which turned out to be a fraud and now need a new credit it card!!

Easy to set up. Light weight, compact and fast. Scans are very sharp. I like that you can scan directly to an email to be sent--that's handy.

This scanner was easy to install on my desktop computer and works flawlessly. Because of its compact size it does not take up much space and can easily travel with you.

price at time of this review is $349.99been using this to scan older paper documents for my small business to scan onto more secure computer files & folders and be better organized! this has helped a lot and kept everything where it should be- on my computer!! no issues with paper being jammed or not connecting to my desktop! have gone almost 5 hours scanned all my documents and this printer hasn't missed a beat!! definitely something that works well with heavier usage!! its a bit pricey, but the brother brand is basically what your paying for here. if this is an item that needs to be used frequently, then this would be a good investment for sure!!

One of the things that has been on my mind lately as a creative running a photography business, was to take my old physical photo collection and scan them all into a digital record as a backup and for future longevity. I decided to give this ADS-1350W compact desktop scanner from brand BROTHER a try to help me navigate this task. This particular option features no touchscreens or any other bells and whistles, but what it does offer is a fast and responsive setup with easy to navigate buttons, and of course a wireless setup for fast connectivity directly to my Mac for easy transfer of scans, so it is very convenient.BROTHER also offers cloud services, and while I personally have my own methods of backup, this is still a solid option for many people looking for easy, dependable storage. As it stands, this is a very functional, modern alternative to my old flatbed scanner on my crappy printer, and it produces a valuable service for me in my business, and I could not be happier with it. 5 stars.

I kind of understand the frustration of previous owners when they mentionned that no power adapter was included. If going the physical data cable route, the scanner is meant to be connected by a single USB-C cable that would, for compatible products at least, present the opportunity to use the same cable for both power and data. If your laptop/PC has at least a single unused 3 amp(15 watts) USB port, it's going to work. Otherwise, you're stuck with having to buy a separate charger and plug a data cable through the USB-C port, which does add to the cost.I think that for $300, Brother really should have included a charger block and called it a day. In my opinion, in the case of that premium wireless model, it's even worse than with the model that doesn't have wireless connectivity as you would kind of expect to connect this scanner away from your laptop...Otherwise, if you can set aside that fumble, I would say that it's a very fast and efficient ADF (automatic document feeder) equipped scanner that can scan both sides of a document in a single pass. at 300 dpi.By itself, it's faster than our office scanner that comes with our Brother MC-L6700DW which is a full size small office multifunction printer, but obviously, as you increase the resolution, it does take more time to scan. In our case, it was easy to install on a Windows 10 PC using both the cabled and wireless connections after downloading the software and drivers from the Brother website, so I really cannot say what went wrong with the other reviewers. The scanner itself is quite small, so it's not going to take a lot of space, but I really wish that for the price, they would have included another cable and a charging block. After all, it's a device with a single purpose, which is to scan, sold at the price you could get a full fledged printer for.

The scanner comes with a USB-C to USB-C cord, so any laptop older thank a few years will require that you buy a new cord. I tried several of my own but none would work, and I was unwilling to shell out for one of theirs, so I returned it. Returning it took a couple of hours of my life and required messaging with Amazon help as there was no way to contact the manufacturer. If you have a new computer go for it; otherwise stay away.

The flash drive can only be used if you have a Mac...the remote setup only gives the download for a Mac so it was useless for me and my Windows 10It did not handle 20 pages as it would get stuck on the third page and I would have to open the top and take the sheet out....so I was doing one sheet at a time..it was regular writing paper..don't know if that mattered or not...I would send it back but I don't know if they would take it as I wrote a number on the start up guide

Whether or not this product functions as it should, the fact is that, out of the box, it cannot be used. Maybe if your computer has a USB-C port, you can use it with no problem; however, that is a lot of "if"s. Eventhough this product costs $250, you must order an additional charging cable, and pray that it is the right one to handle the 15 amps of power that it needs to operate. I ordered 2: A thick USB-USB cable and a charging cable. Tell me, Brother, how much effort is it to include the right charging cable in the box the first time? Heck! I might even pay $20 more if I was assured that the product that I bought could be used right away without having to make an extra purchase.
