Ideal for my 2 year old grandson. He can switch it on and off, reverse and forwards, and put it on the track. He enjoys adding trucks. We have found it can pull quite a few. It is robust enough to withstand his handling. It runs well on a smooth kitchen floor as well as the track and goes just fast enough so he can enjoy watching it. It does eat up the batteries, especially if it runs into a corner somewhere and you don’t notice for a while!

This brand is super sturdy and my 3 year old grandson just loves this! It's been great to add on pieces for different occasions. You won't be disappointed.

These trains are so fun. They fit perfectly on the BRIO tracks. They’re magnetic, so the yellow one (with the battery) pulls along the other two cars. The coal car tips side to side as it moves, and the cement car’s drum mixer rotates as it moves, which makes it fun and realistic. So good at this price point! Would recommend.

This little train makes our 2 year old train lovers day. It pulls and pushes more cars than expected (at least 5) and the movement of the other 2 cars in the set is a nice added touch. It does got through batteries quickly buy only needs one at a time so its not a problem & is easy to change. A must buy treat for any little train lover.

This train is way too slow compared to other powered train engines. Also, it is not strong enough to pull carriages up the hills, it will get stuck and grind away the rubber from the tires. The switch is also too small for a 2-3 year old to use as compared to other button operated trains. Update: after 2 months of use, it is useless and barely moves. Can’t believe we spent so much money. And surprised this low quality came from a name brand.

We have been potty training our train crazy son and it has been very difficult (he's autistic). He's struggling with #2 especially so I've been stocking up on little potty presents he can open if he has a success. This was the most recent potty present and he LOVES it! Indeed, it is very cute and works amazingly well! Some of these little battery powered magnetic trains (this takes one AAA) don't have enough guts to make it up a mild incline but this one has a surprising amount of power for its size! It's slow for sure, but my son doesn't mind. He only cares when they get derailed or can't make it up the hill. It's compatible with all the other magnetic trains and train cars out there and works on all our different brands of wooden track. Also unlike other trains of this sort, both of the cars it come with have action! The cement mixer spins and the coal car tips back and forth, also the front light of the train comes on and it goes backward and forward. Very very cute. All of these trains feel pretty expensive to me, but compared to most, you really get a lot out of this one. It's a definite winner in our house! Hope this helps. I did NOT receive this for free or at a discount.

I am way more impressed with this train than I expected to be! I didn't realize when I bought it that it would actually work on his wooden train tracks. That has made it a HUGE hit. It's easily his favorite train. With fresh batteries, it's strong enough to pull not only the two cars it comes with (which also have movement), but can pull other cars as well.Only a couple of small negatives. It's very quiet when it runs. Most probably think that's a positive, but I would prefer it to give a little more noise so I can locate it when the toddler has left it on. Also, the switch is a little tough for him to work because it has to be in the middle to be off. I think he'll get the hang of it eventually, but in the meantime mom will need to help.

My son got a train-set and train-table for Christmas, so I got this to go with everything. The coolest part about this is the fact that it is battery operated. My son is 19 months old, and he just gets a kick out of watching it chug around the track on its own. The battery doesn't last too long, but it's just a single AAA. I love Brio, and I like the fact that it is compatible with other sets.
