I found several listings where the sizes of the slate rocks were in a narrower range, but this package seemed to advertise anything from 0.35 to 2.75 inches in a mix all in one package. Well, saying that the rocks were "up to 2.75 inches" is true, since there aren't any in the package OVER 2.75 inches, but there certainly weren't any that even came close to 2.75 inches. Since I really only needed less than a dozen rocks, getting a variety pack suited my needs, but I was really hoping that there would be at least a few in that 2-2.75 inch range. As you can see in the pictures, the longest single rock that I found didn't even make it to 2 inches and most of the rocks were definitely less than 0.5 inch, including a whole bunch of just dust. I think I'll still be able to maybe group some rocks together to make the total length I need, so it's not a complete waste, but I was hoping for a more even distribution of the various size ranges. I didn't weigh the package, but I'm guessing that the 2 pounds is accurate, maybe even a little more. They came tightly packed in a cardboard box with bubble wrap inside, but there was so much dust and they were so tightly packed that I transferred them to the plastic container in the pics, just so I could pick through and try to find all of the "big" rocks in the package.

These slate chips are perfect for miniature basing materials. The box is densely packed with chips and they come in a variety of sizes that can make any of my Warhammer model bases look awesome. I'd highly recommend for any wargamer that is looking for a cost effective way to get basing materials that look awesome.
