So great for chopping,We used it to make home made pico de gallo and I couldn’t have been happier with how well it chopped everything up. From the jalapeños, to the onions and tomatoes.

I have had one of these choppers for many years. I have never had any problems with it. I sometimes overloaded the bowl and/or had the pieces cut too large AND I never had a problem. It chopped everything very very well. I could chop foods to really small pieces by pressing on the pump more times. I finally wore it out and had to discard it. I immediately ordered a new one. And I ordered one for my grandson and his family( 4 kids). I highly recommend it to anyone who needs to chop veggies. I am 78 years old and use this chopper 4 to 5 times a week or more. Anyone who has problems using a knife to chop with will surely benefit by using this chopper.

I've already used it a dozen times to chop carrots, red bell peppers, onions, and celery! It does a quick and effortless job, and easy to clean up! I highly recommend it!

I read all the reviews for similar items and purchased this item. I am so happy that I did, it is perfect. It even chops a few garlic pieces into very small bits...now that is really telling you something! Chops anything you put into it perfectly and cleans in a flash. Thx, I love it.

First of all, this review is being written after a few uses of the chopper, rather than exhaustive use over many months. In general, I like it, and will continue to use it. It does certain things very well, and has some nice features, but it's not a replacement for cutting things up with a knife when precision control of the size of the resulting pieces is desired.I chopped onions, carrots, and celery with it. For onions, it makes very nice finely chopped onion bits, but it's not easy to make uniformly-sized pieces that are larger. For carrots and celery, it seemed easier to stop at the right time to have larger pieces. The design is like a tiny food processor with wing blades installed. The chopper makes very quick work of what you put into it, needing only a few quick pushes of the plunger to chop everything. It has some nice features, like the non-skid bottom on the base and the button that locks the plunger in the down position to make it smaller for storage. The design makes it pretty easy to clean, though you're not supposed to immerse the top portion that contains the plunger mechanism.Pros:- Easy to use- Chops very quickly and easily- Non-skid base provides good stability- Easy to cleanCons:- Difficult to achieve a uniform size of the chopped veggies, if not going for a fine chop.

Neither me or my girlfriend have "cheffy" knife skills so if we need to chop a large amount of veggies we typically have to drag the food processor out of the cupboard. As this in itself is a bit of a pain, we decided to try out one of these a potential time saver. I have to say it has worked out perfectly!Obviously you have to work within its limitations, so don't try chucking whole onions or carrots in there, but if you chop them up in quarters or eighths and don't overload it there's no problem at all. To be honest we didn't really expect it to work at all with carrots but as long as you're careful with the size and quantities it will deal with them with no problem. The feedback from the "plunger" will tell you if you've pushed things too far, so don't just start hammering on it if it doesn't want to move, just remove a few items and try again. After a while you learn to judge what to put in at a time, so just err on the side of caution to start with. You can get a finer chop (or even turn it into mush!) with a food processor, but this device certainly chops fine enough for stews, casseroles, curries, etc.Cleaning is very quick compared to a food processor, which also adds to the convenience. We don't have a dishwasher, so any reduction in time spent standing at the sink is always appreciated! At the time of this review we've had the device 7 months and it isn't showing any signs of breaking but as I say we are careful to work within its limits. Also it hasn't become permanently stained orange from chopping carrots which is a nice surprise, although it wouldn't have bothered us if it had.Overall we've found it a great addition to the kitchen and would definitely recommend it!

Let me say right up front, that for a typical household, this would be exceptional. Unfortunately, I bought this for other staff to use with kitchen prep in a small 6 bed assisted living home where I work and "someone" dropped the plunger on the floor and it now rattles and will not lock in the down position for convenient storage. It still functions just fine though - but takes more space in the cupboard. On the plus side, the blade is incredibly sharp!! (As evidenced by an increased use in band-aids since staff have been using it.) It chops boiled eggs, fresh or canned mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, pickles and a myriad of fruits and vegetables. The cleanup is quick, thanks to the thoughtful design of the removable blade and the plunger that never has to touch the cleaning water (just make sure not to drop it on the floor...).The chopping motion is smooth and simple. I've used a Pampered Chef chopper for many years and it would start hurting the palm of my hand after only a few slaps. No fatigue with this fella! And once again, it is so easy to clean. No worries about ingredients from last month's meatloaf hanging around to combine with today's egg salad.Do I love this? Yes, I certainly do. Am I going to buy one for myself to use exclusively in my own kitchen? You bet! This would be a great gift for someone starting out on their own, getting married, or who simply does a lot of chopping.**UPDATED REVIEW**I raised my rating from 4 stars to 5 today. I ordered and received a new unit today for my own personal use and was surprised to see that I've been using the original one since November and when I compared the bowl and blade to the new one they are identical! The bowl has stayed sturdy and unstained despite daily use with an assortment of foods that could stain or cause damage. The blade? That thing stays super sharp (deadly, as a matter of fact) and I used the original one last night to chop salted peanuts for hot fudge sundaes and it did so with such little effort. I'm absolutely impressed with this product!

As a minimalist, I have refused to buy any food processor for over a decade, but finally caved after spending hours a week prepping veggies for my vegetarian daughter. I am SUPER glad I made the purchase! Here is why:1. I finely chopped 4lbs of mushrooms and an onion in a few minutes.2. It is simple enough for my children to use independently, giving them freedom to cook.3. Cleanup was a breeze!4. I made a salsa within a few minutes.5. No electricity required! (We move between 110 and 220 Voltage every few years.)6. It is small and will take up minimal space in my pantry.7. It's very affordable.8. Chops up just a few things, or a lot of them equally effectively.Even my skeptical husband who wanted me to buy an electrical food processor was impressed. The first time I used it, it jammed. I quickly realized I had overfilled it. Filling it halfway, I could finely chop everything in a minute. It worked on a lot of mushrooms effectively. It also worked on only 4 garlic cloves. For salsa: I added the herbs and onion and chopped. Then added the tomatoes, seasoning and lime juice, chopping again. Being manual, you the user, has complete control over how chunky or fine you want the salsa. I could thus chop, mix (and even serve) the salsa in one container.
