I've been using this flask for various applications, hot and cold for close to a year. I've ..due to operator attention... issues, had to go from hot to cold a few times, with no problems. I've dropped the item twice, banged it around against various surfaces (to the detriment of those others).. This flask has been very forgiving of my learning curve and I would/will purchase again.

Background below, with the important part at the last paragraph. Feel free to skip my personal story if you're not interested.I bought this to use with a magnetic stirrer for making homemade hot sauce. I also bought a smaller flask from another manufacturer, as I didn't know how big I'd need the flask to be.I have been having a slightly troubling issue where I can't get the stirrer up past half speed without the stir bar flying off to the side and needing to be repositioned. I just assumed it was due to the thickness of the sauce, so I added more vinegar, and more, and more... Not ideal, as it means the sauce is VERY vinegar heavy, which was disappointing, but not a huge deal. Just means I have to make sauces with a brine ferment instead of a mash ferment, so I can have the extra liquid.Cut to today, where I got everything prepped (clean, sanitized, etc.) for my latest batch of sauce, which I noticed was quite small. I decided to use the smaller flask instead. I blended the stuff up with an immersion blender, and funneled it all in the small flask, then dropped the stir bar in and got it going. I did my normal routine of getting it centered, then turning it on and cranking it up until it threw the bar. But it didn't. I wondered how it would be that the bar wouldn't be thrown off when the sauce was so drastically thick compared to all my previous batches.Wondering why the flask wasn't performing as well as my other flask, I decided to examine the flask, and found the bottom isn't flat. It's not REALLY convex, but enough that it makes higher speeds on a stir plate impractical. If you intend to use this to stir stuff, you *CAN* get it to stir up to the full 2 liters if it's just water. Anything thicker and you'll run into issues. Huge clue will be the clacking of the bar hitting the uneven surface, and eventually being thrown. If you're using this for measuring (not sure why you would, but you do you...), or heating stuff up I'd say "Good buy." If you're buying this to stir any liquid that's thicker than water using a magnetic stirrer with a PTFE coated stir bar... Don't. Just look around and find one that's better.

I got this to make a yeast starter batch for my brewing. It's really nice and sturdy. The base is flat, easy to read, not thin material. It was also very well packaged in bubble wrap.

The one I got was not 100% flat on the bottom. It caused a slight problem with using a spin plate and bar. Otherwise, very sturdy.

The flask arrived on time. I was initially concerned about the numerous air bubbles in the glass as I would be applying heat. I have since used it in an evaporation process, heating the flask with boiling water for a couple of hours and it performed very well. I would have given it 5 stars but for the bubbles.

Put this flask directly on the stove to heat up my wort to a boil then went into cold water in the sink to cool down and pitch yeast. Worked well and in a couple weeks I should have some excellent beer

Flask was in overall good shape. A few scratches in the glass and had spots left over from whatever was used in it last. But it did say it was student grade and used so I was expecting it.

Excellent quality and size for mixing drinks! The flask is a nice, solid glass. Mouth opening is wide enough for ice cubes. We used it for a science party and will save it for drinks at home.

Exactly what I was looking for, and I'm always worried ordering glass products online, but they very much surpassed my expectations with very good packaging for the item.

Very happy with this Flask. It does have a bit of a high spot in the center but I have had no problems getting my stir bar to spin without issue. Very strong, has accurate measurement clearly labelled in the sides. Works fantastic for my yeast starter for homebrewing

The first flask came shattered, so I had to return it, but A-zon replaced it promptly. But then when I got it, my wife wanted it for her lab because she liked it better than the one I borrowed from her. Go figure... But yes, this is a great flask for the price!
