I truly like the color, the bright white, of this duvet cover. I also like the almost full length zipper closure. I am not so sure about how “breathable” it may be. The outer layer is cotton, but the inner layer, the waterproof membrane, feels somewhat plastic. I have a top loader washing machine and there were many large air bubbles I could not get out. Probably a front loader washing machine would be best for this duvet cover. When drying, it may be more efficient to turn the duvet cover inside out, leaving the waterproof side exposed. I dried it “normally“ and found it required a long drying time. But then the interior, the moisture barrier side, was still damp, and I had to turn it inside out to allow it to air dry. Please consider this when deciding whether this waterproof duvet cover will suit your needs. It is obviously very useful for those who may be incontinent. Otherwise, I am not sure if the trouble keeping it clean makes this useful if incontinence is not an issue.

!DO NOT USE WITH BABIES OR SMALL CHILDREN!SAFETY ISSUE PLEASE READ ENTIRE REVIEWOuter material is smooth cotton. The inside (I thought) had a rubber type coating. There are tie strings on the corners and in the middle that line up with the tabs on my duvet to keep it from bunching up. There are 2 zippers on the one opening that close into each other, some thought was given to the style and shape of the zipper slider, the teeth are fine plastic and the slider has rounded edges. Both these features should be more comfortable in bedding.I did a water proof and absorbency test. I poured 8oz of warm water in a puddle on the cover. After 5 minutes no water leaked through and the paper towel (brown) was totally dry. The cotton layer didn't wick or even absorb too much water either. I was able to scoop out the water when done with test. So, if you're buying this for any kind of incontinence protection know that whatever liquid touches this will run right off...and onto something else.Washing was an ISSUE. My HE washing machine stopped twice and had to be restarted because it could not drain the water out through this material and became unbalanced. I finally got it to drain and spin out the third cycle. If the cover was truely soiled I'm not sure I could get it properly cleaned and sanitized in a washing machine. I put in the dryer on medium low heat for 60 minutes to dry. When removed it was a tangled tight ball still wet in the center, I untangled and put back in for another 30 minutes. Again, tight ball at the end but it was dry. THIS is where we find a SAFETY CONCERN.During the wash/dry cycle; what I thought was an inner waterproof coating, turned out to be a plastic liner. The liner started separating away from a corner. About 1/4 of the cover separated. It is not a seal coating, it is a very, very thin layer of plastic (see pictures). As a TEST: I repositioned the liner where it belonged and snuggled the cover up to my face covering my nose and mouth...and spoiler alert...could not breath AT ALL. The cotton outer shell is not thick enough to allow any ambient air to pass through and of course no air could pass through the plastic liner. I Imagine this could be VERY DANGEROUS for small children and especially babies which are prominently mentioned and pictured in the listing. I'm not well versed on the safety regulations but can not imagine there is anyway this product could be legally intended for use by children in the united states. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT FOR SMALL CHILDREN OR BABIES it is a serious suffocation risk! I will rip out the inner plastic liner and just use as a plain duvet cover. For $30 it's hard to find a simple cotton duvet cover so the value is ok but not for use for everyone. I hope you found this review helpful.

This is a great find - I love that it has a waterproof layer inside of a beautiful white duvet cover. It is made of a really quality soft fabric and it has inside ties to hold the duvet in place. Great for the price!

What I dislike about this product is twofold.I is very stiff and uncomfortable to sleep under. I is very heavy. Does it serve it's purpose? Yeah. It kept my comforter dry BUT it literally killed my washing machine...tearing up the drum, moving it so violently a hole was punched in the wall next to my washer, and denting the front of the washer. This $35.00 product cost me over $1000.00 to replace my washer.Sadly I purchases two thinking one to wash and one to keep on. Because of their return policy am stuck with the second one. Over all, I am very unhappy with this product.Update, I had to launder this product in my new washer. Even the new very large washer couldn't handle this product. I had to stay with the machine and rebalance the load multiple times. It also held way too much water at the end of the final spin cycle.Had I had even a remote idea of the problems u would experience with this product, I never would have purchased one much less two thinking I would have one to was and one to put back onto my comforter under the duvet cover.

While I always use pillow and mattress protectors (usually in layers), I’ve never used a duvet protector. I had no expectations. When I opened the package, I was pleasantly surprised. It honestly looks like a normal duvet cover….the only exception being the waterproof layer on the inside. While this protector could realistically be used as a replacement of a duvet cover completely, it still has loops on the outside corners if you still wanted to use a cover on top. Of course, it has inside ties to hold the duvet in place. I haven’t tested the waterproof ability, but it will still be sufficient for general protection. The quality is better than I expected for the price ($33 at the time of my review).Overall, I’m pleased with this product. Definitely recommend.

I ordered this product to protect my elderly parent's comforter, since he is incontinent. The quality is very good - BUT - it is impractical because the comforter (or any blanket) that goes inside bunches up and will not stay in place because of the slipperiness of the waterproof liner. Maybe you could use safety pins, but then product would be ruined, so I didn't even try that. A definite disappointment, since we needed this to work.
