I wasn’t expecting that much, but this may be the best synthetic clarinet reed I’ve tried among them all. Warm, smooth, easily playable. You are going to be surprised and delighted at this great reed.

Feel really nice quality - I haven't played in 10 years and was able to get a decent tone from these out of the box.

Reeds of good value and appear to play at the rated strength. Good tone and response in all ranges! These would be great for beginner-to-intermediate players (especially for doublers) *if* used with a conventional, metal ligature. My single complaint is this: they appear to be made of a slippery plastic, like polyethylene and I use the Bois ring ligature. The reeds slip all over the place with this ligature to the point where I want to use double-sided tape to secure them. As well, the Bois ligature easily digs into the top of the reeds, making repositioning difficult. All that said, the reeds perform very satisfactorily while using a conventional metal or flexible ligature (okay, they slip a *little* bit with a flexible ligature).Would I buy them again? From an economic standpoint, yes - I've paid more for worse. From a performance and response standpoint, *definitely*!If only they would just stay put.

I'm a learner still, just trying again after many years of having had a clarinet but believing I never be able to play. I struggle with the texture of wood so decided to risk plastic reeds. I'm so glad I did. I can now do tonguing and am no longer afraid of staccato. I was getting a lag on my Rico Royal reed, but not on these. I went for a 1.5 same as I had before as the review suggested they were harder than equivalent cane, which is what I wanted. But I find them soft, if anything, softer than my Rico Royals. After being amazed at the difference already, I've now ordered harder reeds to see if I can progress further up the scale as I couldn't get to a C above the stave still.

Reeds are difficult to play and sound buzzy on the lower register. I've been playing for over ten years and would be ashamed to play these even at my rehearsals as I sound like a bumbling beginner. On the other hand, I'd imagine they're very durable since the plastic is so thick. I'll still with my Legere plastic reeds even though they're significantly more expensive.. clearly worth the investment.

These reeds almost feel like I am letting my kid cheat in band class! They are SO much easier than a traditional cane Reed, with none of the nasty new Reed taste!!

My daughter loves these reeds. She was going throuhg at least 3 reeds per week until I bought these. She has used the same one for a couple weeks now and its still perfect. So much better for marching band! She got used to using these immediately, and sounds beautiful playing.

I am a band teacher and a clarinetist. I bought these reeds so I could sanitize them for repeated use by various students for instrument tryouts. These reeds are good for a beginner. The sound is clear and the reed responds easily. They will last longer and not break so easily. The downside is they do sound a bit "plasticky ". However, for a student who is just starting out success is key and these reeds will do that. They will also likely save money since some beginners just have a hard time keeping the reed safe from breaking. These are less fragile and can stand up to common beginner reed care mistakes. Of course, the downside is they won't get to experience the logical consequence of a broken reed and will take longer to learn lessons on proper reed care. I would not purchase these if I were an advanced musician due to the sound quality. I have found Fibracell and Legere to be better synthetic options for sound.

Okay, I just have to say something about synthetic reeds. I just bought a clarinet about three months ago and wooden reeds have been my nemesis since the purchase. There like bad dates. You take one out of the pack, then you have to give it a warm bath. Then it has to be positioned just right. then it doesn't work. Face goes red from trying to get air into it. Change its position . Still red face. Mess with it for hours hoping that the relationship will improve. It doesn't. Break up with it and pick the next one: warm bath. Then it has to be positioned just right. then it doesn't work. This time it squeaks like a shrill. Another break-up. Then you finally find yourself in a relationship that works! Good sound, no facial strain, my God I can play now! Two days later you chip the reed with your tooth or two weeks later the reed just up and S%!ts the bed on you. The process begins again. Synthetic reed. You put it in the way it is supposed to go and play the hell out of it. Yea, Yea, what about tone. I paid $60 for my clarinet on Amazon. I play for fun and there is no fun in not being able to play. I have put more playing time in since installing the synthetic reed 1 week ago than I had put in during the last 2 months. Let's face it, you are probably not going to Carnegie Hall so you might just as well enjoy yourself and learn to play with ease. Never going back!

These are probably excellent for a beginner. Very easy to blow (and to maintain), and they sound good in the lower register. They higher the notes, the more the quality falls off (not satisfying to me in the upper clarion). However, the harder grades may be much better, as is the general tendency, but I haven't tried them because I need soft reeds. They are absolutely consistent from one reed to the next, and seem to hold up extremely well from the first blow to ? I don't know how long. What I really don't like is the black color. I need very bright light to position the reed and line the edge up to the mouthpiece, which is also black.
