As a vet tech I’m used to the $500 otoscopes at the clinic. I was in a pinch and off work for awhile and needed to get a grass seed out of my dogs ear. This came super quick, so affordable and worked perfectly! 100 percent recommend for those who know what they are doing

The otoscope works very well and seems well constructed at one sixth the price of a "professional" scope; perfect for removing the occasional fox-tail (wild grain seeds that predominate in the western states).

I'm so glad I purchased this otoscope. I own an expensive Welch Allen. The battery doesn't work and it's pricey to replace. The glass broke off and that's about an eighty dollar replacement. During use the cone falls off often because it doesn't lock into place. It's a struggle. With this brand of otoscope the light is nice and bright. The magnifying glass is huge so you won't miss anything. The cones lock into place so they never just fly away when the dog decides to shake his head. Worth every penny spent. The quality looks good. It's nice and sturdy. As far as durability

I paid for return shipping and got no money back! I didn't have the tracking number, so seller said I was out of luck. This item was cheaply made and had attachments that were loose when put together.Buyer beware!

I have malti poos and EVERY year they get little fox tails or what have you in their ears. I'm tired of paying 100 per visit to get them out. I've already pulled out 2. As someone else said, it seems like for the batteries used, that the light could be brighter, BUT it is bright enough to get the job done. And yes, if it's really deep in there you might need to have someone hold your pup for you. But honestly, this isn't any different than what they do at the vet. If you're like me, and you have furry loved ones that always get stuff in their ears. You really just need to get one of these.[update 12/20/2019] After having a battery mixup today I changed one of the light tips and incidentally, the 2 extra light tips that are included are significantly brighter than the one that is "standard". So I'm not really sure why they all three weren't the same brightness. Also, although I did report in my original review that I pulled out 2. One of my other dogs was too sensitive and I didn't have someone to help me hold him down. So I would just advise to not force it. Do your best but if they are in too much pain or wont be still enough, then maybe bring them in. I still recommend owning these.[Update 8/26/2023] Still working, pulled out another one. But the light tip needs to be fiddled with. If it's screwed in all the way like you think it should be, it doesn't work. So I have to not screw it in completely.

The first LED burned up in about 10 minutes which is why it only gets 4 stars. . I feel it should have lasted many hours. It comes with two spares so it was still functional. In general the quality isn't the best but I would say for the price it is much better than I would expect. For home use it's very good.First off I spent $675 at the vet to get a fox tail removed. About 12 days later she got another in the opposite ear. It was way way too expensive in my opinion but I thought I had no choice. Then she got the second one I found this tool which is exactly what the vet uses. Now my only issue is getting my girl to stay still long enough to get it out.She is a 70+ LB Doberman. She is very very sweet but she wouldn't stay still long enough to let me or my girlfriend get it out. So we tried hemp quiet moments at the maximum dosage. It wasn't strong enough.A friend gave me some triazolam .25 MG which is for anxiety and the internet says it's dog safe. we ended up giving her two pills and she got very calm, I can tell she is high. Once it kicked in I got a good hold of her head and pulled the ear straight and my girlfriend was able to pull it out in about 15 seconds.I hope this helps.
