I used to have to put sponges with distilled water in these acoustic guitar humidifiers and refill every couple weeks. Now I put these in and no worries for 2-3 months. I have 3 Gibsons and a Taylor, all expensive guitars. I live in a climate where we run the furnace off/on all day for winter month’s December thru March sometimes April.

A elegant solution to an age old problem. Leakproof and basically foolproof as long as you remember to replace every 90 days! Thank you again Boveda for another fine product!

I cannot say enough good things about Boveda packs. I use them in my humidor and in all my instrument cases. Such an easy and inexpensive solution. Lasts a long time (I live in a very dry climate), and for the price it's totally worth the ease of use. I also like that I can toss them and them seem to be pretty environmentally friendly (paper and salt). As far as accuracy, I can tell you they keep to the humidity they advertise whenever I've checked it.

Great product. I keep two of these in my instrument bag. No issues to report. Much simpler to use than Dampits and other solutions.

A must have for dry conditions to keep your acoustic guitar in good condition.

These Boveda humidity packs regulate humidity (the percentage humidity is marked on the pack. For ukuleles and other fretted musical instruments it's 49%.) Note they are NOT a humidifier - they simply help keep the humidity stable (+/- 5%). First use a humidistat (like a thermometer but for humidity) to determine the relative humidity in the room where you keep your instruments so you know where you are starting from. Adjust the humidity in the room with a humidifier (or hang wet towels on a rack in the room) OR use a dehumidifier if needed, to get the humidity as close as you can to 49%. Insert the packs into their soft case (don't use without the case) then put the packs in the instrument case. It will absorb up to 10% excess humidity and if needed, it will release it's humidity in about the same amount through vapor when needed. They state the packs last for around 3 months so you will need to reorder the insert packs a few times per year. Still it's a lot less expensive than having to get your instrument fixed if it cracks from low humidity or buckles due to high humidity- especially if your instrument is made from solid wood (laminate wood is not as susceptible to humidity changes). I have them in each one of my instrument cases, regardless of the wood used to make them.

I put these inside my Ukulele soft carry cases. I have to put two in each case to keep the humidity at about 45%. These work better than other methods I have tried for maintaining correct humidity inside the cases. My Ukuleles are solid woods of Koa or Acacia and it is important to keep the humidity at the proper level to prevent cracking of the woods.

+ They make a difference in humidity levels.+ They slow down how quickly the humidity changes.+ Easy. Put em in and forget about em.+ They work to keep humidity at a stable level so you can't over-humidify (which is worse than dry).+ They last pretty long. Around 5 months for us.+ They don't leak.- While they do work, they can't really keep the humidity level to 49% in our cases. We use a room humidifier and our winter RH is right around 35%. Inside our cases it's around 40%.-More garbage for the landfill compared to reusable sponge type humidifiers.

Product arrived and each packet had a moisture collected in the bottom left of the packet. Not sure if this is how the product is meant to arrive.

Uso queste bustine non per gli strumenti musicali ma in un humidor per sigari toscani di fascia alta che richiede una umiditá abbastanza bassa (a mio gusto). Boveda top qualità come sempre.

DisappointedI bought this and the recommended saddlebag holder expecting it to lower humidity to around 49%rh as claimed.I placed my Gibson guitar in its hard case along with a hygrometer that I bought at the same time, this measures rh as well as records the lowest and highest relative humidity. After four days in the case, unopened, I opened the case up to use the guitar to see that the highest rh was the 63% which was the time when I'd closed the case four days earlier. The lowest, which was the reading when I opened the case was 59%rh.This falls well short of the claimed 49% rh performance. I'm only pleased that I didn't buy the 12 pack!I certainly would not recommend this to my many musical friends - just the opposite, in fact!I take care to write a factual record of how an item performs, if this is useful to you I'd appreciate it if you'd take a second to click the 'helpful' button 🙂
