It looked like the perfect simple processor for my simple needs. But a few flaws made it unusable for me.First, the pitch corrector is glitchy. When it works, it’s perfect. But there is an intermittent popping glitch at the start of some sung notes. I tested it by sending a dry vocal track from my computer DAW through the VE2 for processing. The popping glitch disappears when the pitch correction is turned off. It did track another singer better than it did me. So your mileage may vary.Which brings us to number two. The USB can be configured to be an output OR an input but not both. So you can’t use it to process DAW tracks and send the results back into the computer via the usb.Third, the Enhance effect sounds very good but is considerably louder than the bypass signal. So when you bypass the unit to have a dry voice between songs, your voice will be much quieter than it was when the unit was active during the song. The reverb and delay effects are quite extreme and there’s no way to edit them. The harmonies work well.I feel like this would be a fun toy for parties and karaoke. But the heavy-handed reverbs/delays and glitchy pitch correction make it unsuitable for more professional applications. I wanted something for paid live gigs but didn’t think I needed anything as robust as the VE500. In hindsight, i think I need something that lets me tweak the sounds a little more.

One of the cheaper harmonizers. Tried all settings, not very natural sounding for me, returned unit.

I bought this model after reading some reviews and I am beyond pleased. I used it playing a gig (I am a solo guitar player) and it sounded amazing. I even played Seven Bridges Road by the Eagles which is a song I could never play on my own. It's easy to use and is an excellent addition if you are a solo player.

I bought this on a whim after weeks of deliberation to find a vocal processor. I needed simplicity and consistency. Something I could count on and not be fiddling with, while also pushing my voice to the front of the mix and give more life to my vocal performances with doubling or light harmonies.Flat out…it all just works. It’s a ‘cohesive unit’ in that everything works together. It rewards those who use their ear and have good mic technique. It’s far less about fiddling with buttons. It reacts to you. Now… just have fun! It’s not perfect…and neither are you. That’s why we have $250 pedals…not $10k racks with roadies to set em up.

I used headphones at first just playing around with it. I had read the instructions before using it and found the harmonizer very easy and intuitive to use. It does not take very long to find the optimum settings for each song.I definitely recommend!

I bought this as a compact vocal solution I could mount to my pedal board. It, like most Boss products, is built like a tank. Here's what I like and dislike:Like:* Easy to use and can run on batteries or ac input* Tracks guitar signal fairly well* Harmonies sound great, although like most vocal processors use them sparingly* Nice that you can dial in the key easily via dial.Dislike:* You are basically limited to 3rds and 5ths, which for most should be fine.* There is a glitch when changing the key's whereby the last key is not remembered and you have to always change the key prior to using.* The input control is a knob, and not a particularly stable knob.* The effects are also a knob and they are organized in a bizarre fashion. Reverb, Delay and Reverb, and Delay. It's hard to dial in exactly what you want.* As others have noted it's difficult to read the text in a dark room/club, so if you're choosing keys you kind of need to memorize the layout or have a flashlight handy.* The bottom of the unit is not flat, so it's actually NOT built to be mounted to a pedal board. A glaring oversight by BOSS.All in all though for roughly $200 this is a nice little vocal processor and I'm happy with the purchase.
