The big gigcaster, the 8, does all it’s says and is a convenient package for home or the road. All the guitar amps and effects you would need, the tracks to record, and the ability to run off USB power. Mics on board if needed, Bluetooth, all the connectivity you would expect. Run to an amp, PA, whatever, the gt1000-ported sounds will get you there. No drum machine built in, bummer, but then it’s a bigger, 1k machine like a Force.

Would’ve given 5 stars if all the 4 input preamps had singing effects as well. Currently it’s only available in the first 2 channels. Since the first one is also for guitar, you are just left with one channel for singing, that makes it impossible to add a backup singer

The machine is superb! However, the documentation absolutely sucks! If you (like me) don't have a friend who knows how to operate the equipment, you are going to feel you have a Boeing 747 without instructions on how to fly it. The lack of available and detailed information with examples by the manufacturer is absolutely horrendous. I have been trying to learn what I can from YouTube videos, but it is a very slow process. People don't show you step by step instructions on how to do things. There is also a pedal that can be linked to the product which is a complete mystery. Anyway, I may be able to tame the beast, but I am pretty sure it is going to take me a lot of time -- much more time than I expected. And that is very frustrating. Boss is company big enough to be able to create step by step tutorials on each and every aspect of the Boeing 747 they parked in my garage. I can't fly it yet.

I was so psyched to get this but just pressed the return button. The tweaking capability is incredible and the boss modeling effects are great as usual. I wanted to try to make it work for guitar, keys and a mic but its just not convenient for that many inputs. There are 4 stereo channels but three of them are taken up by USB, BT and pads. The remaining stereo input is 1/8" which I anticipate will eventually malfunction. I commend BOSS for not counting the stereo inputs as double and calling this a 12 channel mixer. While this thing is full of awesome customizable effects, I would still like to run to an external signal processor. As E. Miller already mentioned, you can't customize the headphone mixes to use as a send. I'm sure solo or duo users will love this, though.

I like the fact that I can livestream, record, Podcasts, or record both instruments and vocals in quality fashion without compromising quality in any form or fashion!

A great all around mixer for a small studio or streaming setup. Highly recommended for anyone working with podcasts, game streaming and or live music broadcasting. The onboard effects are amazing for both the guitar/bass and the vocals. A big hit.

This unit is slanted toward musicians; especially guitar players. I like that. Inclusion of the Boss GT-1000 effects is a huge plus as is Float 32. The computer app editor is great. The sound effect buttons are completely configurable and programable, making this a very versatile and user friendly for streaming or pod casting.Along with pod casting and live streaming, I had planned to use the GC8 as an audio interface and front end mixer for my project studio.. which brings us to the "BUT"... The GC8 does not have separate/independent headphone mixes. When recording music, overdubbing etc., an independent headphone mix is essential and for an old studio dawg like me, a deal breaker. I am returning the unit.I believe the GC8 has a lot to like. It is not a good fit for me.

all the vocal and guitar effects, including electric and acoustic, ability to play backing tracks, and works well with a multitrack player or a DAW. An all in one solution that sounds great, easy to use, and makes home practice very fun. Nothing else to say….
