Bought this as the enamel was starting to go on the old Boska (10 years hard labour). There seems to be a slight drop in quality, but still unbeatable.

noch ein bißchen Arbeit (Holzstück war sehr verkratzt), dann ist es wirklich schön ! Das Holz bekamnoch eine lebensmittelechte ölung.Sehr stabil, kippelt nichts !Schon mehrfach mit Kindern verwendet.

All though some of the component parts of this set seem OK. They do not fit together as they should. Bear in mind that you have a pot full of Bubbling hot melted cheese that could do real harm if it spilt everywhere. Add to that the if you use a liquid fuel for the lamp below you could have a fire on you hands.Absolutely zero quality control. The Tripod (as mentioned elsewhere) does not fit into the groove in the Oak base that's supposed to keep it stable. I tried to fix this myself - it can be done but it will take more time. The only reason I'm not returning it is that I've already applied a grinder to it.The Oak handle for the (very heavy) pot is in two parts and I just can't see it surviving more than ten uses. With Fondue (or anything else that you'd use this set for) Safety must come first. The people who make and market this product simply don't care about that it seems.

The pot I received had legs that did not fit into the wooden base.

I have had quite a number of fondue pots. They were all problematic because you couldn’t keep the heat high enough for fear the pot would crack and if you did the cheese burned. This pot is fabulous. The fondue was hot from beginning to end with no burning of the cheese. Highly recommended..

Ein klassisches Fondueset das von der Optik her bereits auf der Tafel von König Artus' Rittersaal gestanden haben könnte. Sehr rustikal, mir persönlich hat es sehr gut gefallen. Bei sachgemäßer Benutzung brennt nichts an, dass man einen Topf mit Echtholzgriff nicht in die Spülmaschine stecken sollte versteht sich eigentlich auch von selbst. Der Brenner ist etwas eigenwillig denn er enthält einen Einsatz der wohl Spiritus verlangt (eingepresstes Sieb auf der Oberfläche), im Boden des Brenners ist aber eingestanzt dass nur Gel verwendet werden soll. Da ich Gel aus Literflaschen verwende hab ich die Brennerschale mit etwas Alufolie ausgekleidet was den Reinigungsaufwand nach Benutzung deutlich reduziert. Das mir direkt von Boska zugesandte Set hatte leider einen Transportschaden da sich -wahrscheinlich durch den doch recht schweren Topf- die losgelösten Innereien des Pakets aneinander gerieben und aufgescheuert hatten, sowie einen herstellerbedingten Macken am Griff. Beide Probleme wurden nach gemeinsamer Anstrengung und Geduld vom Boska Kundenservice zu 100% gelöst.

The pot itself is great--super even heat distribution which is ideal for fondue. There are two major downsides to consider. First, it is nearly impossible to clean. After 4-5 rounds of scouring we still have small bits of melted cheese that we couldn't remove. Second, the sterno/heater that came with the pot would not light for us. We ended up having to use several small votive candles instead. Based on these issues, I wouldn't recommend this highly. However, it is high-quality and good looking.

I unpacked the set, first off, the wooden handle was damaged, one side was smashed in and flattened, the rest of the handle was rough, dry splintered wood. I sanded the handle until it was smooth & then oiled it so it wouldn't dry out and splinter again. One of the legs did not fit into the grooves of the wooden base. It was very unstable. I had to pound the legs with a hammer in order to bend them so they would fit into the groove. Then I thought it was finally okay to use. I prepped the ingredients, made the broth, company arrived and when I tried to light the solid gel burner that comes with the set--it would not light. I used a long bbq lighter, drained a new one of all the gas--but it wouldn't light. Matches didn't work, nothing worked. I'd love to know if anyone was able to light one of these--and how did you do it? Is this even fuel? Dinner was ruined. Instructions show a match lighting the solid fuel--I call BS.

I bought this fondue set to be used mainly with oil ( meat fondue). It doesn't work!!!!!. The heat in the burner it's not enough to keep the oil hot.For cheese and chocolate it might work great I'll try It with broth ( the temperature with broth must be lower than oil)I'll update in a future.
