Liquid started coming out after 30 minutes of use. (I assume grease)It got stuck on the Velcro pad cause the sanding pads to fly off as soon as you turn the device on.

I bought this to sand next to the wall board molding when I sanded my wood floors. Worked OK but I was quickly wishing I had a more powerful unit, but they cost 4 times as much. The dust collection works good for smaller projects, I attached a shop vac with a filter for the floor project and didn't get a speck of dust.

I got two of these units to sand a deck, all the detail work 100s of sheets of paper worth. These are high quality sanders I would look no further.

This is a nice piece of equipment. Feels a little bigger in the hand then I was expecting but comfortable. It's kind of heavy, which is great for horizontal surfaces like tables but if you're sanding a wall it can be a touch heavy. Can be held multiple ways to change it up a bit. Feels well made, solid. Just an on/off switch, that's it. No speed setting. The pad has a little flexibility to it so it's good for sanding objects with some curves to them. The pad has like a velcro surface so you just stick the 8 hole sanding disks on it and when the disk is spent you just peel it off. I recommend buying the sanding disks at the same time you buy the machine, it just makes like easier. I bought the recommended multi-pak for like $10 and it was all I needed.

Vibration is less noticeable and easier on the hand when finished. The dust filter in the back seems well done but not really something I'd rely on as dust will still fly out and into air. Still recommend wearing a mask. They do provide a dust attachment which was very thoughtful. Make connecting to a dust extractor or shop vac better.Good purchase and great for hobbies or small business.

Wow, this sander is a pleasure to use!Well, Bosch does it again. I have several sanders, they are all expensive models from well-known companies, but this one clearly is a better product design and quality. I don't buy cheap tools. This product is easier on the nerves in the hands to use (I have damage to the nerves in my hands and it makes them very sensitive to vibrations) than other brands I have tried, because of the excellent balance and vibration dampening design.I also bought the variable speed model , which I prefer to the single speed product. I gave the single speed model to a friend as a gift, along with the nice hard case that comes with the variable speed model; I did not need the case. My friend refinishes furniture, and she loves this sander too. Both sanders are quiet, very quiet, more than you would expect. The low noise level shows a high quality in bearings and motor design. The random pad movement gives a very even finish. The variable speed model also prevents your sanding discs from melting paint and becoming clogged by using a low speed. I also bought the other density pads for various types of work, you need them if you want to do many various projects. They are all available on Amazon if you search http://www.amazon.ca/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=&field-keywords=+Bosch+ROS10+pad Amazon's intuitive suggestions will also offer you the various sanding discs when you search for the pads and tools. The sander comes with a vacuum attachment, which I use. The included dust filter works quite well indeed, but you will not collect all of the dust with it. The vacuum attachment works better, but the drawback of the vacuum attachment is the noise of the vacuum, and the annoyance of the hose always being in the way, also it tends to draw the sander closer to the work-surface and will change the finish. I still use the vacuum for rough work, because I really hate dust.Sanding is something that you really should get some books on, and read about before you ruin things with trial-and error. There is a lot more to sanding that you think you know. Amazon has some excellent books that pertain to general sanding techniques:

2 years later, I am still pleased with both sanders. However, the on-board filter for both has worn such that it no longer fits tightly and you can see a stream of dust escaping at the connection to the sander. This is not a big deal for me as I almost always attach the shop vac. It is clearly a result of the plastic wearing down through removal and replacement of the filter. In the beginning I could barely force it off and on. Now it slips off or on very easily. One other issue with the filter is the difficulty of taking the cover off. It fits so tightly that I broke one of the tabs trying to remove it.Because most reviews are very positive, I purchased this product in spite of two reviewers reporting vibration problems. It turns out to be the smoothest ROS I have every used, and much less noisy than my older Bosch ROS (which still works great after many hours of use). The included filter works very well, and attached to my shop Vac it leaves almost no dust. There is an error in the description that you should note before purchasing. Click on "More Details" and it apparently takes you to the description of the ROS20 - the variable speed version. The ROS10 is a single speed, single mode sander.
