There is no doubt that this Bosch name brand laser level set is professional quality. It is a complete kit that has everything I need (including all of the batteries) on the jobsite to get the work done. The laser receiver is a super handy device. It allows me to pick-up the laser beam a long way out, the description says it will reach 4000 feet. That is a distance that pretty much covers any typical use. Everything is nicely stored in the supplied case that protects everything and keeps it organized. It really makes it easy to keep track of everything and have it right at hand when needed. It does get a little tricky closing the case though. There is a slot that is nicely labeled for each item, but to get the lid shut, a couple of the items need to be tilted a little. That means reaching in and holding it over as the lid goes down. It is a bit of a hassle. The overall build of the laser unit is very good and solid, I expect that it will last a very long time. At the same time, while it is a heavy-duty unit, weight is not a problem. It is easy to transport. I have worked with similar Bosch lasers in the past and they have always served me well, but this one is a newer generation and the electronics are superior. The App control is very convenient and an efficient way to control it. The biggest feature that stands out for me is the green laser. I have to say that it is much brighter and easier to see. Using a red laser outdoors can really be touch and go. The green laser is a better choice for brighter conditions, and I am able to track it much better. Apparently, the batteries are part of a standard battery system that matches a number of tool brands, but I don’t have any tools that match those brands. So, the batteries are proprietary for Bosch in my shop for now. Perhaps the compatibility will help me later down the road if I buy tools in those brands. Overall, this is a great laser level set that is built to last, and it does a nice job with lots of advanced features.

I started working in construction over two decades ago, and I recently retired my first self-leveling tool. I decided to treat myself and purchase a new one. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by its performance. While there are many moving parts, I don’t mind, as the end result is impressive. I work in both residential and commercial construction, and I use this tool daily. If I ever need to buy another, I would choose this one again, but the quality seems excellent, so I don't expect to need a replacement for quite a while!

I set this up in the yard today, and I was impressed by the build quality. This looks like it can stand up to anything. In short order I was able to see all the high spots in my yard and next spring I can get to work flattening them all out. Theres alot to learn about this system, but just for a basic setup I was able to get it working in just a few minutes. It's going to be useful thats for sure. I love the case and the packaging, although its kinda heavy.

I own several laser levels, using them for things as simple as hanging a picture to as complicated as checking a foundation. They're useful, but nothing I've owned compares with this Bosch laser level which I got through Amazon's Vine program which gives products to reviewers in return for their reviews. It's unlikely I would have paid the money to upgrade to this system without Vine making it possible, but I'm indebted to Vine for this level which is now probably the finest tool I own.Why is it now my finest tool? Because it's the single most accurate and durable tool in my collection, more accurate and durable even than my CNC mill. This is a bulletproof level. You can submerge it, drop it, abuse it and not only does it shine through, but if you do alter the tool's accuracy by harsh treatment, the laser is capable of field recalibration. You don't need to send it for service. Recalibration is a 15-30 minute process you do yourself. The 4000 version of this laser can be used to measure up to 4000 feet with the included receiver. Accuracy is 1/16" horizontally at 100 feet and 1/8" vertically at 100 feet. The tool will warn you when it is disturbed in any way that would render measurements inaccurate. The laser is self-leveling and though it doesn't do horizontal and vertical lines simultaneously, it can be turned on its side to run vertical (plumb) lines. Slope adjustment on X and Y axes is possible.Bluetooth control is done through a proprietary Bosch Leveling Remote App, allowing remote adjustments via smartphone. An included remote control is capable of making the same adjustments. The laser doesn't have to be run at full 360 degree rotation. You can limit the sweep to 90, 50, 25 and 10 degrees. Two power options come with the kit: you can power the level on Bosch's 18v Core rechargeable battery system--and a Core 4Ah battery and charger are included in the package--or it can be operated by an included battery pack filled with four D cell batteries.Note that the grade rod uses fractions of inches. If you want to use tenths you will need to purchase a different rod.The set comes in a huge (and heavy when full) plastic case. The case is awkwardly long because of the need to accommodate the tripod. This is a professional tool. It will work all the way from setting up cabinets in a kitchen to establishing grades on a major earthmoving project. It's beautfully buit for accuracy and durability and a great thing to own if you make frequent large-scale measurements.
