The description and the instructions do not do justice for this product. Once you figure it out you will find this to be a very good product that works very well.

Really useful accessory for your Bosch router. You will need them if doing intricate work. Adaptor fits the gfk600 router perfectly. Makes some woodworking simpler and more accurate.

I play the classical guitar, and I was sick of my store-bought, China-made, footstools breaking, so I decided to make my own out of red oak. I already had the Bosch Router and just needed the template adapter (and it's nice to have the guide set too) to use with my newly-purchased dovetail jig that I bought just to make the footstool. Long story short...the Bosch Router Template Guide Set (I really needed the adapter for the template guides that came with the dovetail jig) worked perfectly. I was new to dovetails, but I have already made not only my own footstool but one for my uncle who also plays classic guitar. Every Bosch tool I have purchased has been really great! :-)

This set is Ok, but I have a couple of problems with it. 1. The guide stems are press fit into the base plates. I do a lot of dovetails and I think the stems are likely to loosen over time. 2. Once installed, you have no line of sight of the cutter as you move through the cut, and I like viewing my cuts as I travel around the jig to make sure everything is seated properly. If you decide this is your choice, I' purchase the set that includes the centering mandrel as You'll need it to center the base plate. To solve my problems, I decided to go with the Jasper Tools M 575B Clear Router Base Plate Adaptor that allows guides without an adapter and a set of standard Brass Router Template Bushing Guides.

I inherited my fathers POF 1200 Bosch router (2008 model) and this has proved a great addition for wood working jobs.I wanted a guide bush but the prices seemed very high for a single item, this 8 piece set seemed ideal. The price was amazing shipped from the USA, one tiny problem though.Bosch use a "bayonet" style locking system compared to the usual screw type, the bushes supplied didn't quite engage.A little work with a hacksaw and a file cured this, may not be a problem on later models, overall a good quality set .

This Bosch template guide set has everything you need to mount it to a Colt router with the Bosch plunge base.I looked over the product reviews and the description, but could not figure out if this set would fit on my Colt router with the Bosch plunge base accessory. The answer is, yes it will fit and this set contains all the parts you need.. The adaptor "ring" needed to put the template guides on the plunge base is included with the set. You also get another base ring called a threaded guide which allows Porter Cable template guides to be used on the Bosch plunge base. The adaptor is a large ring with two screws attached. These screws fit on the Colt plunge router base (the holes are already there) and hold the ring on that you fit the template guides into. The guides fit onto the ring by twisting into slots on the adaptor ring. There is a large black square button of sorts on the router side of the adaptor that you pull back, and that opens the way for the guides to mount into the adaptor. After you release the black button the sliding adaptor section snaps back and the guides are firmly held.I checked the 5/8 guide against a slotted template I made for routing mortises. The Bosch guide fits exactly as my Porter Cable 5/8 guide does.Template guides expand the possible uses of a router. For example, I use them for cutting slots and mortises. To make a jig that fits the guide, pick a bit for the slot size then use the properly sized guide to mount into the adaptor base. Let's say you want to cut a 1/4 mortise. While you can choose a guide that closely fits the bit, I would pick a 5/8 guide because I could use bits larger than 1/4 and cut many sizes of slots with one jig. To make the jig base, pick a piece of wood about 14 inches long, a couple of inches wider than the router base, and that is at least as thick as the router guide is long - unless you are willing to grind down the guide's extension - and cut it in half the long direction, that is, the direction the slot must run. Then cut a 5/8 plus 1/64 piece off the base in the long direction. Cut that 5/8 part in half. Then calculate the length of the slot you need. That slot will be the length of the mortise plus the offset from the template guide to the router bit. For example, a 5/8 guide with a 1/4 bit has a 3/4 offset (3/8 x 2).Glue your base back together with the two 5/8 pieces arranged in the center so they leave a 1 3/4 slot in the jig. You now have a base with a 5/8 wide hole that's 1 3/4 long. Put center lines at the ends and the middle of the jig slot. Now mark the center of the mortise on your stock. Place the stock under your newly constructed base and put a fence on the base that will hold your stock parallel with the hole at the correct distance to center your mortise. A vice helps. Clamp the stock down to the jig centered on your layout lines. Then, put your plunge router into the slot with the guide on and cut the mortise in 1/4 inch passes. The template jig and the router guides will hold the router on line and stop it without intense effort from you. And every mortise will be the same. With a good bit and the guides you can cut a mortise much faster. Slots as well. You can also cut around templates for designs, and you can build the templates yourself.AD2
