I can say it was a game changer when I replaced my shaft and column bearing. Steers like new. Had to make some modifications with a Dremel to fit my 1992 Blazer though and it was more work than I thought it’d be

I started my journey to clean up the slop in my steering about 7 months ago. I already had a u-joint a buddy had given me after helping him install his. (a few days later it was in my mailbox). I'd forgotten about it but came across it cleaning a drawer in the garage. I installed it and it helped though it was a PITA getting the rag joint off with the small dremel I used.It was better but the sterring sill floated, jumped on bumps etc. I thought shocks! yah that'll do it, so on went some Monroe cheap but not cheapest shocks, another improvement but still not what i had hoped for. then a RC Steering Stabilizer, tightened things up but yeah SOS...so I continued on to upper ball joints with Upper Control Arms (do yourself a favor and get the Control Arms with BJ Pressed in for you. proce difference is small) No Joy, then lower BJ's....Personally I will never do another Chevy Balljoint if they are original Rivet ball joints what a freakin hell that was. 1 BJ frm the lower set and 1 from the upper set failed almost immediately. Oreillys brand and when I mentinoed the weird feel to the dude at mu local O he said"oh yea our ball joints suck - My guys should have told you....Ill cut to it, MOOG Ball joints were bought along with Idler arm, Ptiman arm, inner/outter Tie Rods with sleeve, shocks then upgraded to SkyJacker N8000's, some OfferUp mega deal Rally knockoffs with dog dish hubcaps sporting 33x12.50x15 BFG K02's (Alignment shop said I didnt have to change all those parts and that it was my dry rotted tires the whole time. it wasnt...I saw this Stering Shaft in Amazon "recommended for you" pop up and said F it, bought it, installed it and the best Mod to date for my steering - Wheels/tires aside cuz they look badass.Look, its a truck, it's gonna drive like one. Steering is tight and the once used 5 times a year beater I bought when I moved to the desert is now a pretty cool little truck. (Pick n Pull I scored a pristine dash, rear seat, all inside panels - turned nasty purple interior tan, painted the blue dash to match, installed new carpet, got motor and trans running tip top, threw in a sound system with Kenwood deck, 4 channel 1200W Amp 2 6x9's and 2 6.5s, a 800W single channel with 12" Sub all SCAR) I'm broke but my beater is pretty badass now.anyway, it worked for me try one

Bought to replace my stock shaft that was no good and couldn’t find a stock replacement or repair kit. Borgeson shaft is unique in that it is held on with set screws and jam nuts. The bottom rag joint slips over the spline of the steering gear but they do say there needs to be a flat spot where you set the set screw for the bottom joint vs the stock pinch bolt design. This caused some issues as my aftermarket steering gear already had a flat but it didn’t line up. I’m going to try and adjust the upper shaft to work with the bottom flat but I am not certain it will work as the steering wheel has a unique spline that only goes on 3 different ways. Overall I am pleased with the design and robustness though.

My 1992 GMC Sierra SLE's break away steering column was offset a bit. So to be on the safe side I bought this center piece replacement. Now I know that it was what was causing me to have to take very wide turns. Great part and fit. Very easy to attach. Thanks Borgeson.
