A speed square will guide a 90 or 45 degree cut as well or better than this tool, so the reason to purchase it is for 22.5 and 60 degree cuts. I bought it for the 22.5 degree cut, the angle for rafters in a 5:12 roof pitch. But the tool is not very good for that acute angle because of the way it is designed. When you hold the plastic ledge of the orange handle flush against the edge of a 2x board, the metal straight-edge doesn't make contact with the face of the board but hovers above it about 4mm. As a result of this lack of contact, the guide can tip forward and rotate on the rounded edge of the 2x board, loosing its purchase on the edge of the board. The lip on the metal ruler needs to be 4mm longer so it makes contact with the board, to keep the guide from rotating on the board edge. See photo. But with a clamp of the proper size and strength, the Bora guide should work OK even for that acute angle. Several of my clamps didn't quite fit, inlcuding the very strong Jorgensen 6-inch E-Z Hold. A small Irwin Quick-Grip did fit but it's not really strong enough to keep the Bora guide firmly in place when using a heavy worm-drive saw. Be prepared to find a suitable clamp if you intend to use the Bora guide at 22.5 degrees.

Very happy with the performance of this square. Works very well when cross cutting with precision is required, up to about 12" in width. I'd recommend.

This product is only ok. I’ve used it extensively at this point, and (for me at least) in consistently generates cross cuts that are slightly off square. I think this is due to the fact that it has a grippy rubber contact surface where it is held against the board you are cutting. This means that depending on how you put pressure on the tool, it may deviate slightly from square. Is it bad enough that the cuts are not usable for framing? No. Is it annoying? Yes. Would I buy it again? No.

Works as described, helps make quick cuts. I used it to make 90 and 45 deg cuts so far and it really helped me make fairly accurate cuts - good enough for diy deck build job.

Ok I was a dum dum and thought I was ordering a circular saw that came with a guide and thought it was an incredible price, but it's actually just the guide, no saw included. My bad.

the orange part is plastic so it feels a bit cheap and it's very big so not the best for small hands. Overall good.

The primary reason I purchased the Bora guide was to align my circular saw quickly with my cut line and execute a cross cut. Low and behold- it doesn’t work with my saw as the blade guide is only 6” in length. The Makita XSH08 has a larger saw base due to its dual purpose (traditional circular saw and ability to use with a track base). Also setting the angle or straight cut you want is less than intuitive and isn’t quick. Unscrewing the base to move the rail to the appropriate angle takes more effort than necessary. Also the use is cumbersome, there is a small rail u see the base that aligns o. The boards edge and is hard to engage.
