Pros: Good quality, sturdy wood construction (reminds me of a cutting board). The light has multiple levels so you can choose your preferred lighting. Adjustable angle is great. The stand is wide enough to support thick books like textbooks and Bibles. The arms that hold the book are sturdy and hold tightly.Cons: You’ll need to place it close to a power source since it has to be plugged in. The wood on the corner of the ledge isn’t sanded smooth and has a sharp edge that I’m worried could damage books. The magnet that holds the ledge closed wasn’t attached and I’ll have to glue it back on. The support arms hold so tightly that I’m afraid they’ll damage delicate Bible pages. You can see the indentation they’re creating in the attached photo. The ledge is somewhat narrow for very thick books.All in all, it’s a good value and a great tool to support comfortable reading. Just be careful if you have huge, delicate books.

This was just what we were looking for in order to study with textbooks at the desk. This book stand is not a travel bookstand. It takes up space and must be plugged into an outlet to use. It is heavyweight and meant for serious study in one space. It is far superior to the less expensive plastic one we have as it does not even threaten to fall over when adjusting the pages!It does collapse pretty compactly and has some nice design features to that effect. The stand at the back has a rotating metal piece to keep the stand in its slot so you can easily move it about. The metal stand bracket has a clip to hold it fast to the back of the stand when not in use and the wooden adjustable stand it slots into has a clever little magnet that keeps it tight against the back when stored. The front lip with page clips also folds up and has that same embedded magnet to keep it tightly closed when put away. The LED lamp folds down and stays put as well so you can make it fit on a bookshelf and quickly put away and take out.The LED light’s disadvantage is that it must be plugged in and the cord could be a few feet longer, but it works where we are using it. It comes with a velcro attached to quickly round it up which I found thoughtful. The light itself has four modes of brightness and a timer feature for 0.5hr, 1hr, and 2hrs which would be useful to set and study - with it turning off as your reminder your time is done. The light illuminates the top half of the book easier than the bottom; it can be angled, but even so it still lights the bottom less brightly, but this is minor and it is still useful. I would rather have had this be rechargeable so it could be placed anywhere, including the kitchen table, without the cord, ideally, but it works. If you don’t want the light, there are four screws and it can be removed entirely.The page holders are great! They are strong, but do not hurt the pages and it is easy to move them to turn pages. It holds larger books open well without blocking any writing and can be stowed easily if you don’t want to use them. Pro Tip: Instead of putting the clips to the outer edges of the book, put the tips toward the spine in the middle for it to hold your book flatter and turn the pages easier.I can recommend this as a nice bookstand that works well for serious study. Maybe, if you have very large books, you might have to remove the light? Might want to check the sizing, but so far it works well for all of our books. I bought this item because the light was included and it extended the entire length of the platform the book rests on...so much better than a clip on light! Love the light features: dimmer and 3 types of light settings--very helpful when using over a long period of time. The adjustable angle is a must-have so product can be customized to your needs. Easy to store as it folds up quickly and easily. Well packaged so it arrived in perfect condition.I would highly recommend this product.

Love this the light is amazing. I have so much trouble with my eyesight not only does it illuminate the Bible that’s on the stand, but it also illuminates the Bible that’s on the desk in front of it very impressed with the quality I would’ve rather it looked black, like the others I was looking at
